Paper dolls?

I LOVED paper dolls as a child. I had so many sets that cost next to nothing. WE also would cut our own out of catalogs. We would be so happy when the new Sears catalog came because we go the old one to cut up..HAPPY memories.:goodvibes

I did that recently with my preschoolers. Except they wanted IT ALL! funiture, food, toys.... You name it, I laminated it...

OMG! You just gave me such a wonderful trip back to my childhood. Thank You! I went to the years I would have been playing with them and honest to goodness I remembered some of the pages! I used to wait for that magazine to get delivered, I spent hours playing with them. My Aunt worked in Murphys and once she got us a couple of pattern books when the store was done with them and I thought I had died and went to heaven. I still can picture the family I had put together. How anyone could afford the amount of children that poor lady had (and keep that figure) I'll never know.

I only wish my baby girl wasn't leaving for college this year and was young enough to play with these.

this was really neat to look at on a cold, boring Saturday night.

Thank you so, so much for starting this thread!! I absolutely adored paper dolls as a child.

OH, I had forgotten the pattern books. They were an even bigger treat!!!

I am trying to remember all the sets I had as well. We had an old timy 5& 10 store that sold the paper doll books.

I know I had the Waltons, Mary Popins, Family Afair, but so many more.

Just wanted to let the paper doll fans know that yesterday at Michael's Art & Crafts Store, we saw Disney Princesses and Disney Fairies paper doll books. They looked really fun, with all the dolls and clothes. I think they were $9.99 for the entire book, and every Sunday they have a 40% off coupon, so you may be able to get them all for around $6. :thumbsup2

I also found some at the billybear.com site for the younger crew. They also had *GASP* babbies! thats all my girls will want to play with lOL
