PAP to DVC Gold Pass

If I change the type of pass I have and in this instance downgrade to a gold pass instead of renewing my PAP, will I have to pay a new gold pass rate ($627.29) or the renewal rate ($532.50) for it. I have read several posts and can't find the answer....

You would pay the renewal rate.

A long as you are in the renewal window you will pay the renewal rate, I did this exact thing about 2 years ago, when you renew you can select any level of pass and still get the renewal rate.

As long as you're within your renewal window, you can renew from any annual pass level (that includes admission to the 4 main theme parks) to any other annual pass level (that includes admission to the 4 main theme parks) that you qualify to purchase.

So you can go from Silver to Gold...From Platinum Plus to Silver, From Gold to Platinum, etc. You get your new pass at the renewal rate for that pass that you qualify for at the time you purchase the pass. So if you had a Platinum Pass, and became a DVC member during your year, then you could renew at the DVC Gold renewal rate.

Again all of this is for park passes that include admission to the 4 main theme parks. You can't go from a Water Park Annual Pass to a Platinum Plus pass and get the renewal rate
