PAP Renewal

We have PAP's that expire in May. Maybe I imagined it, but I was thinking that I read on this board that I could renew and get a voucher to activate the next time we visit (could be 2005). I just called and was told renewal is $106.45, but it has to be activated within 30 days of expiration. Was the voucher deal a limited time offer that I missed? We might go for a couple of days in August, but I'm not getting a good rate at the hotels yet.

We had PAPs for a year (2002-2003), renewed for another year within 30 days of original expiration date (2003-2004) and got a voucher. We presented the voucher 5 months later and our new passes were issued. Our new pass says that it can be renewed online and looks very different than the old one. When I read that it could be renewed online, I wondered whether this would change the way things were done. I guess it does. Anyone else have info on this?

They should expire one year from activation not from voucher renewal/purchase date... ex: I renewed mine within my 30 days of experation in Jan of 2003. I didn't activate it until July of 2003 (ended upgrading to the 2 year deal they were offering then) and now my experation date is July 2005. Disney does it that way.... you have one anniverasary date....not matter when you activate it...ex: renewal date is 1/9/04..... but you do not activate it until 2/9/04...it will still expire on 1/9/05 not 2/9/05. Disney use to have it the way Universal does but I think too many people weren't activating them right away..... just holding them and getting all the perks.....so they stopped it.

They expired one year from the date of activation. We renewed the passes in May, 2003, got vouchers but didn't activate them until October, 2003. They expire in October, 2004. From what I see on the back of the pass though, I think they will be activated immediately if we renew them when they expire in October.
