PAP and gift cards

For anyone (like me) that took advantage of the Target $10 gift card promotion over the past 2 weekends to purchase gift cards in order to purchase their PAP's.....here is what I have found out in the past 2 days. Member services can not take more than 2 gift cards, so they will transfer you to the Ticketing Office who will ask you all your information all over again. The hold time for the Ticketing Office is usually 15-25 minutes (I was wrapping presents listening to their music). It took 18 minutes for me to read off 33 gift card #'s and pins.

You can bypass Member Services and call the Ticketing Office directly at (407)566-4985 option 5 and tell them you are DVC and want PAP's.

How are you able to use 33 gift cards if they cannot take more that 2 gift cards?

Member Services can not take that many gc's, only the Ticketing Office can.

The actual Ticketing Department has different access to the ticketing system than Member Services does. Based on the Ticketing Departments access to the Ticketing System, multiple Disney Gift Cards are considered ONE form of payment.

I realize that multiple people have done this already. It just sucks that this information was not provided by MS directly. I specifically asked MS yesterday if I could call the Ticketing office directly and they told me that no, they have to do it as Ticketing office won't know that I'm DVC. I asked if theres any way at all I could use my GCs and I was told no.

So right now I have about $700 worth of GCs left since I paid $2K worth of PAPs via my CC.

I just called ticketing 1-407-566-4985 Select option #5

They took my 26 give cards for payment for my 3 DCV discounted PAP's no problem.

Whoo hoo net cost $330 a ticket after Target discount.

Thanks for the info. I bought 20 gift cards, and am going to buy 3 tickets this week for our feb trip.
I have a couple of questions. I know DVC stands for Disney vac club, but what are PAP's? I am not a member, just a normal tourist, so not sure if I can call the ticket line ?
Do you have to scratch the codes off on them to give them the numbers?.
Also, does anyone know if anyone else can take the cards for tickets? Like UT possibly?

Pap's are premium annual passes. DVC is offering a discount to members for these right now. The ticket line is available to anyone for any type of ticket purchase. When reading off the codes, you do need to scratch off the sticker area for the pin. And lastly....only Disney takes Disney gift cards. UT takes cc's.

Wish I had known this last weekend, I would have bought more gift cards. I was seeing info here that said that we could only order through Member Services and could only use 1 gift card and had to pay the rest with another form of payment. I got 3 gift cards and planned to buy our 3 PAP's separately (using 1 gift card per order) but now I'll just call ticketing direct, order them all together - so this information was useful afterall

Just successfully purchased our DVC PAPs from the Ticketing office with 17 gift cards. Was on hold longer then it took to read the card numbers to the cast member.

He even caught on early that the first 8 numbers were the same on all of them and only needed me to read the last 8. Worked like a charm

At the time I posted this, I already used half of my GCs for my annual dues. I was hoping I could use what was left over for PAPs but was told by MS that I can't. I was finally able to though so I am good.

Yes they will ask for it. They also wanted to make sure that the 4 passes we bought were for our immediate family members.

If I have 4 x $50.00 gift cards, can I call MS and buy 4 PAP's? I could use 1 gift card per PAP but I suppose it would be 4 transactions? Or should I just call Ticketing to make it easier?

If you call MS, it will have to be 4 separate transactions. If you call Ticketing, you can have it all in one transaction.

There was a coupon at target the past couple of weeks where they gave you a $10 target gift card for every $50 spent. Plus you could use your target red card to get 5% off. Gift card coupon is expired that's how people saved the most money. But you can still use the target credit or debit card to get 5% off.
