Pantyhose and sandals?

IMHO there is a big difference between dressy sandals and casual sandals. I would wear pantyhose with dressy shoes and a "dressy" dress. Like CRB#33 said my legs are not formal wear.

I use to work in a shoe store, trust me, don't wear the panty hose with open toed shoes. I think they just look best without.

Just adding my voice here. NO NO NO hose with open toe sandals. But I have tried the open toe hose and they hook round your big toe. They worked great and gave my legs a formal finish but I still have open toes. My shoes were barely there sandals and I had to take care when positioning the hold-on part of the hose but in the end they looked nice IMO. I like to show off my painted nails and toe ring :)

I have to agree with most of the others.. NO NO NO to sandals and pantyhose!! I have yet to see someone who could "pull it off." I think it's very noticable and especially with strappy sandals will look much better without them.

Where do you find open toed pantyhose, because there's NO WAY, I'm wearing a formal dress with bare legs.

I got mine at Dillards (DKNY brand) and they are wonderful -- I am pasty paper white and look ridiculous in dresses without hose. I get a very light hose color, so that my toes don't look strange, but it definitely finishes the look.

Here is a link to a good housekeeping article on the hose.

It is a major no no to wear hose with open toe shoes these days. Just look inside the pages of Stlye Magazine, Vogue etc. No one wears hose with open toe shoes!!!

The best thing to do is to first g o buy a good self tanner and go faux tan those good ole white legs. Do it very lightly if you plan not to do the the rest of your body, just enough to give your legs a warm glow. Have you ever applied a self tanner? When you get to the foot area, it is best to apply the tanner around the toes and side foot area with a make-up sponge, applying just a very small amount. Next go and get a great pedicure, with a polish complimentary to your dress.

Any major department store sells the toeless hose. These don't work with, or look good with really strappy, totally open shoes. However, if the shoe is just open in the front, then you may be able to use these. I used them for a pair of shoes and dress I wore when we were in Monaco last year, and they worked great.

Personally, any time I can get away not wearing hose. I go for it. They are the most evil article of clothing ever created.
