What's the best time of day to go up? If you are only going to do it once, when do you get the best views?

Good question Nik.
Unfortunately in our case the best time was when it was open, which was first thing on our last day.

I imagine it would be good as the light is fading with all the lights on in the park and resort

its not amatter of when you think is the best time to its a mtter of when it is safe to go up. we tried for 3 days running from the 12th of september but because of the wind it wasnt safe so we couldnt even though it was very hot.
if you see it open go then cause you might not get another chance.

goodness we must have been lucky as we went up on the 12th of September!

It was our last day and we only had a couple of hours so we decided it wasn't worth park tickets (partly as we would have hated leaving after a couple of hours!!) so we saved our last few hours for going up in the balloon and some shopping in the village! We went up early....about 9.30am - 10am and it was fine...didn't feel windy at all!

So maybe a lesson there....grab it while you can!

However, I do think going up around dusk would be really nice.

Try not to go up while the sun is low in the sky (i.e. early morning or late evening) because it means you'll have to squint into the sun if you face in certain directions. Even then, it's not THAT bad - all it meant for me was I couldn't get good photos of Disney Village. Most of my shots of the parks came out okay and the hotels were fine to look at.

you were lucky on the 12th we was talking to some people and they said it went up 3 times that day we were just unluky.
