as you can see I am going soon to DL, I have everything a planned exactly the way I want it but I shouldnt have turn on the TV this morning another attack after 9-11 is being planned, they didn't say what but it is going to be worse then 9-11. OK, now I don't wanna go, this happened another time and I cancelled, I am afraid of my own shadow

This is the way I see it....We can't let terrorists control our lives. This is exactly what they want. They want us to live in fear. It's blackmail...plain and simple. We do what they want, live the way they want, then maybe...maybe, they won't hurt us.

I'm a firm believer that neither we, nor the terrorists, have any say about when our time is through on this Earth.

I could get hit by some speeding maniac on the freeway today, throwing my car out of control...I could find out that I have cancer...I could get hit by a car in the parking lot as I head into my local grocery store...I could get shot by some hoodlum holding up the 7/11 I just happened to be in when I stopped to grab a gallon of milk on the way home....the plane that I'm flying on to DL could develop mechanical problems and crash.....the possibilities are endless....

The day and hour of my demise is something that is completely out of my control, so my philosophy is to live each day to it's fullest and let God decide when it's time to leave this life.

I agree with bouncy, you shouldn't let it control your decisions otherwise you'll end up never wanting to leave your house. And guess what, there are more places to injure and kill yourself around your home.

If they're aware of something being planned and are letting us know this time, the chances are good they're not going to let it happen. So don't cancel your plans just yet. I mean when it gets time to your trip and there are red flags everywhere saying don't fly to disneyland and you have a bad gut feeling, then you should cancel

These organizations have less and less of an ability to really pull these off, especially now that we're on our toes. All they have left are scare tactics. Don't let them run your life.

Terrorism by definition is the act of terrorizing ones victim(s). Through fear they hope to control our actions. Don't allow them to make you a victim. Be strong, know that God has a plan for you, and in 26 days that plan is for you to take your family on a wholesome vacation where you will be creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Right before my last trip to WDW in July all of sudden there was a number of stories about airport security and terror threats. I'm a nervous flyer and a terrified flyer when with my kids - anything can happen to me - but NOT my kids! if you see the logic. So I worked myself into quite a panic...and the internet fed me what I wanted to see; story after story about terrorism.

The upshot is I got on the plane with the kids and we went and had a great vacation. Nothing happened. I'm not saying nothing will happen, only that I put myself through weeks of misery based on news reports. I think yahoo must have a program that feeds you more of what you want to see if that makes sense. So if their algorithem notices you look at terrorism reports it feeds you more of the same. Try to ignore these news stories. Focus on your trip and the fun that awaits.

Disney does have a lot of people walking around with security badges looking at the crowds. They do a baggage check before you can enter. Over ninety nine point nine percent of the regular people around you also don't want to be in a terrorism attack and many of them will take action if their was one. You are not alone. We are all in this together.

I totally agree. And in reality, how many 'threats' has America had after 9/11? There's always something in the news about it, but as of this writing there hasn't been anything. But I do understand what you're saying and feeling. Once I had kids, things just affect me more. I say go and enjoy and just try to keep it in the back of your mind

Someone told me I was "crazy" for planning our trip to DL for 9/9 - 9/13. It was clear that they thought we were foolish for traveling around 9/11. While we *do* think that another attack is not a question of "if" but "when", we refuse to let that rule our lives. If we all stop living out of fear, then the terrorists win.

That's not to say that we wouldn't be afraid/devastated if something DID happen ... I'm not into chaos and bodily harm . But why cause yourself ulcers over POSSIBILITIES. Keep it in the back of your mind, but don't panic. It will be ok!!

I flew back from Hawaii on 9/11 a few years back. I'm sure I wasn't the only one thinking about it on the plane. In fact, since I was flying United, the pilot said a little something. I honestly think that 9/11 is probably one of the safer days of the year now, as we're all a bit more alert.

Ps. If I could choose my time to go, it would be peacefully, at the end of a Disney Trip, what better memories to carry with you??
