I got a panini maker for Christmas that I don't have a clue what to do with - it opens up to a griddle - so I know I can use that (though I already have one of those)

It didn't come with a recipe book & we're not huge sandwich eaters - other than PBJ, grilled cheese, egg or tuna salad - all those but 1 are cold...:confused3

Crusty Italian bread, somewhat thinly sliced, prosciutto, capicola, provolone cheese, giardiniera.....delicious....or use pancetta, basil, tomato and mozzarella....or use serrano ham and manchego cheese....sooo many options.
Find a good deli by you and go crazy!:lmao:

okay, leaving to make a sandwich.

Do you like fun cheeses, not iceburg lettuce, use a spinich and tomato, I use the Rome slice with basil and thin sliced turkey, or chicken left overs.
Some rosemary or oregano sprinked.

Roast beef and swiss. horsey sauce.

I do tuna salad with cheese all the time on my George Forman. Yum! Anything you put in a Sandwich works IMO. Just leave off the lettuce and grill. I always use cheese, try to use interesting bread, and use some condiments like fancy mustard or horseradish sauce.

Grilled cheese would be easy and I actually think PBJ would be good hot and melty as well.

I usually slice a ciabatta loaf at an angle, top a slice of it with deli turkey, ham, and swiss.... then put a bit of pesto on it, top w/ the other slice of bread, and then put it in the panini press... yummy :thumbsup2

Asiago Cheese Bread, either fresh cooked chicken breast (the whole thing) or sliced Chicken Deli meat (much easier), mozzarella cheese (slice or two), sun-dried tomatoes and basil/garlic pesto.

I brush the outside of the bread with a little EVOO. Very yummy. I am not a huge sandwich person either but I like a good warm Panini.

A Reuben is good as a panini.

Veggie options, too: eggplant or spinach and mozzarella w/ red peppers, basil.

What does everyone use to grill their sandwiches? I was thinking of getting my DH one for Father's Day. Looking at the Cuisinart if anyone has it and wants to comment.

I use some kind of Italian bread and some lovely mozzerella with tomato, fresh basil and a little slice of pepperoni.

Wow was a great site. Now I need/want a panini maker too.

OMG---I know what you mean. I've been looking the George Foreman with the different inserts--including a panini one. Does it work the same as a panini grill?

Thanks for the info! But 1/2 the ingredients listed here I've never heard of! LOL

gonna give some a try - well at least the grilled chese - LOL I'm gonna be brave & try new things soon -

I use a nice bread, grilled chicken, either Asiago or mozzerella, sundried tomato, basil and thin red onion. I serve it with balsamic dressing to dip in.
