Are you looking forward to Pancake's on Tuesday? What do you have on them? I just have lemon and sugar - not too adventurous:D

Pancakes on a Tuesday? Sunday is pancake day, and one always eats pancakes with real maple syrup. Perhaps I'm missing something.

We have golden syrup or ice cream in ours Kaylee.

Yummy:p

Duh, I knew that. I forgot. We do the same thing here. Dang, it's already March?

:D :D Ooh - pancakes. Shrove Tuesday's the only time I stuff pancakes and don't feel guilty (OK, only slightly guilty then;) ).

I have lemon and sugar, DH doesn't often have them, maybe once every five years cos he's not a "sweet" person, prefers savoury.

DD Katie is the pancake expert. Has to have hers with thick chocolate spread (hazelnut flavour at the moment). She often asks for pancakes for brekkie, but only let her have them once a month, if she's lucky:)

Now, must make a note to get lemons.

Ahhh - also just remembered having friend's children after school Tuesday, so might offer tea and stuff them full of pancakes. I - for whatever reason - have a reputation with Katie's friends - they always ask for pancakes, even when it's not Pancake Day (bet I'm popular with their parents:eek: :p :p ).

Last summer we stayed at ASSp and DD wanted pancakes. She was a little bemused that they came with sausage or bacon - all she wanted was lemon and sugar. Luckily slices of lemon were supplied to put in tea - but I must have looked odd putting the lemon with her pancakes!

Lemon and sugar on my pancakes and maple syrup on the kids. Lovely!

However, I've been roped in to be on one of the Team in Carys's schools annual Pancake Race - OMG!!!

We have to run around the carpark tossing pancakes at four points whilst wearing wellies, an apron and a chefs hat!!! Seeing as I'm totally unfit I'm surprised they want me on one of the teams (the word 'mug' springs to mind!).

I guess I'll have aching legs on Wednesday but it's usually a laugh!! :)

I don't think that the children will get pancakes on Tuesday evening as I will be all tossed out as I have to cook a lunch for thiry men on that day and you've guessed it they have requested pancakes and it'll be just my luck they will want more than one each. I think that I might pop down to sainsbury's and buy some ready made from the bakery dept. and pop them in the microwave do you think they will know the difference.

Oh, please, please, please let me come and watch. I'll bring the camera, the camcorder, my contact at the local newspaper - my already high estimation of you has just shot up another notch, flower - no way would you get me running (well, staggering in my case) around Katie's school field . . . not that her school do much like that anyway:( .

You have to let me know how you get on, I'll be thinking of you and watching the local news tomorrow night;) xxx

Sounds like everyone will be having lovely pancakes.

Annie I like the idea of catching a picture of Astrid in her wellies!! Good luck Astrid - hope you win :D

Ummm, I don't think we do that over here. Sounds like some weird mating ritual. ;) We do have bed & lawmower races though. :p

Blimey Steph - and I thought our pancake race was a trifle odd but ..... bed and lawnmower races - hmmm the mind boggles!! :)

Annie - Sorry, strictly a private pancake race - no photographers allowed!!!! ;)

Steph

A bed race??? Do you race aroung in your bed?? I am curious now:D

Here's the link Kaylee. What? You didn't believe me? I used to live in Colorado Springs and the Bed Race is taken very seriously. ;)

Bed Race

Lawnmower racing is a more organized sport. Honest. Here's the link. No giggling allowed.

U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Association

After perusing that US Lawn Mower Association site, I discovered that you Brits are in on the action as well.

Here's your site. Why do I have the feeling this is a "guy thing."

Oh well, whatever blows your skirt up. :p

No, he had a zipper problem ;)

I had to do some scrolling back to remember what this thread was about !
