Panama City Beach....where did you stay?

Hello! We are planning on going to Panama City Beach during spring break (the boys in the family are tired of Disney ) we've been once, and stayed at the Sunbird. Our condo wasn't very nice.... stains on the floor, appliances didn't work, etc. So we'd like to try somewhere new, that is reasonably priced.

Where did you stay when you went to Panama City Beach, and did you like it?

We stayed at a place called Beachcomber-by-the-Sea a few summers ago. It was okay - clean, but basic. The "continental breakfast" was just a few donuts & a jug of juice set out on a little counter. But the little kitchen was quite adequate, so we just cooked breakfast in the room.

Not sure I'm brave enough for PCB at Spring Break though!

The Boardwalk Beach Resort recently built a new tower. We are staying next November.

You probably can't go wrong with something that is brand new.

We've had some bad luck in PCB. The condos are hit and miss. Some of them are real old.

Make sure you eat at the Flour Power Bakery if you want a light lunch or like Key Lime Pie. They have the best!

Yup, PCB during spring break! We just love the beaches there and we've been there before so we know what to expect. My older brother really wanted to go there last year, but we weren't sure of it's condition due to hurricanes. So we're going this year!

Any other PCB visitors want to share where they've stayed?

Believe me, the beaches at Destin are twice as beautiful as PCB!!! (Hurricane damage from a few years ago....) And, most the accomodations are nicer as well.

We stayed at a timeshare at PCB, thru my inlaws RCI exchange, and ended up driving over to Destin twice. Do check it out!!!

There is a little hidden area about 10 miles to the west--and we stay here a lot

I think the name of the place where we had all the problems was Edgewater Beach Resort. We looked at 5 different condos and they were all in terrible condition. We ended up leaving there and staying at the Hampton Inn (it's not on the beach.)

I think they do a pretty good job of cleaning up after the hurricanes. We went last year for the Ironman race at the beginning of November and the beaches were very clear. Dh said he saw minimal debris on the bike route and run route.

It is not the clean up from the recent hurricanes... It is the fact that PCB lost half of their white sand to the Hurricanes several years ago.
