Well, I'm up a pound. Not going to beat myself up over it but need to kick my butt and start moving around. I hate the word exercise! But that's what I need to do. So right now I am at 190

Tami,

What about just putting some fast music on and dancing a lap or two around the house?

Like Linda says, "Babe steps!" :cheer2:

So I am really frustrated. I walked on the treadmill last week 5 out of 7 days, exercised yesterday and even ate healthy. Now I honestly did not expect to lose weight, but I definately did not expect to GAIN weight.:scared1:
ERRR!!!! I won't stress TOO much about it. Just a little vent here and there.

I would expect a weight gain! Picture a pound of marshmallows vs. a pound of fillet Mignon. You are creating additional muscle mass as you work out.

How are your clothes fitting you? Are they more comfortable? Is your watch a little loose on your wrist?

I would be interested to hear the answers to these questions.

You are doing good!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I came back from Epcot. :cool1:

I/ We had a great time. I was very good eating wise.
Katherine, Epcot is like nothing else. Half of it is a world trip. You can have pretty decent food from any of the countries and get a sampling (albeit small) of the culture. The other have is Future World which is an eclectic mix of current technology and future. It's hard to explain.

It is far and away my favorite park. My two year old loves it too. It's ALOT of walking which is great (you can burn off the booze) :rolleyes1. There's something for everyone there. The food is the best overall of any park. It's just a great park.

Well back to the real world. Thank you everyone for your support and care. It's an amazing thing this internet, brings people who would never have met together providing support and friendship. Ya'll rock. :worship::cheer2::worship:

Jenn,

I want to go to Harry Potter Park, now I want to go to Epcot. DH puts up with my HP but he really, really, really wants to go to Epcot. Ugh. I might have to make a choice here. :confused3

I've never met people like Dis people. There may be some cranks in the background, but I've never found them. The people who choose to spend their time here seem like the very nicest kind of people.

The kind of people I want to spend 15 days on a ship with! :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I know you said you ate healthy, but all the little stuff also adds up. Now it maybe muscle gain, but it could also be all the little stuff adding up. Until I started writing down EVERYTHING I ate I couldn't loose.

Well we want to spend it with you too! I would go to Epcot myself. The HP Park is going to be mobbed for awhile and not all the stuff is going to be in right away. As much as I love HP, I would choose Epcot every time.

Did I ever mention Jeff and I wrote a book about the parks? We wrote hte original scavenger hunt book for the passporter folks. If anyone has questions about the parks, Jeff or I can usually answer them.

There ARE some cranks, I've seen them. but so far they are not us!

EPCOT is timeless, not the 'flavor of the month' - it's the nuances - the telephone signs and mail boxes - the fountains and gardens. It's more than the superficial shops and food, although they ARE the first things that catch your eye. It's the details and the stories behind them that add depth to the experience.

Jen, I had a feeling about you guys from the beginning, that you were more experienced in the ways of Disney than the average pair! How COOL that you wrote a book! How're you feeling this week? And how did the boss meeting go?

Better here, this morning. I'm going for a walk instead of the gym today. DH is gone skiing, I want to enjoy my quiet house :rolleyes1

Muscle weighs more than fat, A. B, it could be water weight. C. better to weight daily and average for the week? If you wanted, you could graph it over time by entering the daily weight into a spreadsheet so you could see the standard deviation over time. Then you might not freak when you had a weekly average higher than you expected, if the trend was downward. (Yeah, I'm a geek)

Yesterday, I ate

Breakfast
2 eggs, bacon, 1 rye toast, 1/2 c melon

Lunch
Salad w/ last 2 sl bacon, 1 sl rye toast w cheese, 1 Lindt ball

Supper
Brussels Sprouts, Salad and an angus beef burger on 1 whwh mini bagel with cheese

Didn't need a bedtime snack, still content from dinner.

Happy Day, All!

No Jeff and I are not "normal" Disney people. Until we had Jack, Jeff had eaten at EVERY eating establishment on WDW property. Including the Sand Trap Grill.
We had done Scavenger Hunts and Great Races for RADP week prior to writing the book. In fact Jennifer and Dave were 2 members of the first team to win. (Jennifer and Dave are the Passporter folks). While I think it's pretty cool I can say I wrote a book, to be fair it's not really a book. It's just ALOT of questions. But still, it's cool.
Things at work are better. I've gotten to a level of understanding with my boss that I didn't think I could get to again. She has been very supportive as have all of the managers/ directors in the women's service line. It's a lot right now between school and work. As a friend told me last week, don't try to do it day to day, but hour by hour for awhile. Every hour I reassess where I'm at and often I'm pretty happy with what I've gotten done.
I would love to get a buddy system going on our thread. Kinda like a secret santa thing. People are given someone to support, anonymously. Little emails, trinkets in the mail, etc. I think that would be awesome.

Katherine

Thank you for the pick me up speech!! Its nice to have some cheer for you. My clothes are not fitting any differently and neither is the watch. I know what you are saying though and I won't stress too much. I remember when I first started losing weight. I noticed the inches before the pounds, but still these past couple of days have been frustrating.

Well, I got my workout done today. I usually workout Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, but I wanted to baby my ankle after the blond moment.

Jenn,

I don't know what to say about that book! How neat! I'm thinking like Linda, I sense there was more to you to then meets the "eye". :cool1:

Katherine

LADIES!!!!

I missed you :) I am back from my wonderful whirlwind trip to Disney- my niece loved it and I so enjoyed watching her experience things. My parents also took us to Epcot on Tuesday so that was a nice surprise :)

TIME TO WEIGH IN LADIES!!!!

You read right, we have two weeks to account for...I know I am not thrilled with my results, I of course did my usual dance, down 5, up some, down some, up some more, lol. I am so bad at consistency, and let's just say eating at Disney didn't help! I know I have a few weigh ins from people who sent them directly to me, but if you could all post your weigh ins for 3/1 and 3/8 I would appreciate it so I can post the chart ASAP.

Hope everything else is good with everyone, I haven't had a chance to read back. Have a great day ladies!

Holly

Welcome Back!

Glad "the talk" went Well, Jen. That's a great idea about buddies - only, I don't think I am one - my attention span isn't long enough to remember it's time to send someone something. :(

Ok - weekly average was 218.5. But TODAY I weighed 215.5 which is BELOW the -50 milestone. Don't put that down in the scoring - because I'm sure I'll be fluctuating a lot before I hit that again - but DANG that sure perked me right up.

Today, I ate
2 eggs, 3 bacon, 1 rye toast

Lunch
ounce liverwurst, oc chedder cheese, 1/2 apple

Supper
2 baked chicken thigh w rosemary, garlic & lemon, broccoli, brussels sprouts

Snack
cottage cheese with a handful of blueberries and 2 strawberries.

Sleep tight, everyone!

I agree. Glad things are working out for you at work, Jen. I also have short attention span. I can barely remember to get family birthday cards and presents in the mail ontime.

Its amazing how just seeing the scale move down 2 or up 2 can affect how we feel about ourselves. You should just remember that by taking care of yourself, you are doing something wonderful for yourself and for all those people who love you. Keep up the good work, I think you and all the others on this site are doing awesome!:yay::yay::yay:

And, btw I did find out. You can finish one scrapbook, but apparently not two. June, 2009 cruise is scrapbooked. January, 2010 is still mocking me.

Got my stitches out of my leg today, but still have a couple of more weeks before I can go back to walking and my wii active. Still using weight ball and free weights for upper body.

Oh, lol for THAT, I have lists! :lmao: (and, I only do them once a month, the last week of the previous month)

GREAT - You've been persevering under quite a handicap!

Did anybody see Oprah yesterday? I am MORE convinced than ever that eating veggies and organics is the way to go. Once again, it's a case of "follow the money"

I didn't, please let me/us know what that was all about.

First of all, it was about the movie, Food, Inc. It can be had for $9.99 from Amazon through the 17th. I ordered it, but I don't know if I can watch it. The short story is, the way our food is produced is a long way from the family farm, and while storebought chicken may look like chicken, it isn't your grandmother's chicken.

Then there was an interview with a food writer Michael Pollen, Food 101

Then some star took us grocery shopping for healthy food, and a guy who runs a healthy fast food chain talked about how he does it.

Food that's bad for you has gotten cheaper because of government subsidies to agribusinesses such as corn and soybeans, but that doesn't mean you should eat it.

The bottom line was - Fresh, organic, humanely raised, not prepackaged; if a 3rd grader can't read the ingredient, don't buy it; Wild caught fish rather than farm raised.

You're going to pay, one way or the other - either higher prices now for better quality food, or on health care later (and maybe not so much later). There was more, but that's the nutshell.

Hopefully someone else remembers more than me - it was on for the whole hour!

I did not see the thing on Oprah either and I placed the movie in my cart at Amazon, but I have not pushed checkout. I don't want to NOT eat meat. I read a book years ago when I was in college and gave up hamburger for years as a result of it. Let me know if anyone else knows more about it.

BTW, did you see the video on demand version is coming up as included in my cart for that movie

Happy weekend! Busy weekend here. Yesterday was DS's 4th birthday, today is DD's 11th birthday and DH leaves for Atlanta tonight for a convention.

I skipped Thursday at the gym because I was busy making the birthday cake for last night but worked out Mon-Wed and Fri. I'm skipping today since DH is leaving tonight but will go back tomorrow. I ran Wed and Fri and again and made it 2.5 miles in 30 minutes, so better than my attempt on Monday with 2.25 in 30 minutes. I want to up it a bit every week and hopefully be up to 3.1 before too long.

Eating has been hit or miss. Yes, I ate birthday cake - had to celebrate my babies' birthdays :goodvibes. But what I didn't need to do was eat the buttercream frosting that I did. But oh it's a weakness! I could eat that stuff by the bowl.

Holly, here are my weights:
3/1 - 141 (no loss :()
3/8 - 140

Monday may not be good on the scale. But I plan to be good the rest of the weekend.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are having such great weather - sunny and warm. Going to try to enjoy the outdoors!!!

Andy HOlly, glad you and your niece enjoyed WDW! I can't wait to take my nephew (and the one on the way!) someday. My sis will probably never take them so they'll just have to go with Aunt Carmen and Unlce Jarrod! My first nephew is just 6 weeks older than DS so I'm hoping in a couple of years he'll be ready to leave his parents for a week. He and DS would have so much fun together!

The show didn't say, don't eat meat. The show said make informed choices about how the meat you buy is grown. Likewise, oils, vegeteables, etc.

Apparently, if you buy the dvd, the movie is available for download, right then, but I didn't push that button.
