Panama Canal, new lock wall crack fixed!

The crack was in the cement wall just below the gate.

I can't tell from this picture how those gates function. The gates on the original canal swing to the middle. Do these gates swing (to one side) or do they slide to the side?

They slide into the wall to the side (much like a pocket door).
 

Just to give you a little size scale, if you look on the dock on the right side, you will see a little, little orange dot.........that is a worker!

  1. Hopefully DCL will pull the trigger on refurbishment of the Wonder. I'm waiting on that for a Alaska cruise.

In some spots they are fairly close. Val & I saw the construction going on when we did the WBPC cruise in 2013.
