Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

I am really leaning towards booking. I just posted on Facebook asking one more time for a cabin mate.

My daughter reminded me that I said we were done with DCL for awhile. We needed a change. We were on the Magic 8 night out of Galveston over Easter.
We are booked on a 10 night Southern on NCL over Christmas and NYE.

Go back a d check the posts..... I saw a solo traveler earlier. Love norweign! Cruised the Epic last summer for western med.

My group is also flying out of Hobby (believe 2:45 p.m.). We would be interested in group transportation. There are 4 adults; since luggage is being mentioned, the 4 of us usually travel with total of 8 pieces but we keep trying to get down 6! Thank you for checking into this!!

I think we may have to leave before the group is ready. Found another DISers on same flight so we are looking what is being offered to get us there between 10:30 and 11 am.

glad to hear that you like NCL. We have a Baltic cruise booked with them for Aug. 2014. We have not sailed on NCL in about 15 yrs.

DCL is our favorite line. But, we sailed on most lines. We prefer the smaller ships and more exotic ports.

We are booked on the norweign Star out of Miami on 23 day transatlantic with Baltic capitols included. I'll see how the 14day goes before making final decision. It's in may 2014.

Not sure if this offer is still good. If you go to HSN.com (arcade section) and request a NCL brochure, you can receive a $100 on board credit. You will receive a client id # when you receive the brochure. Just call and NCL will apply it to your reservation.

The offer states it is for dinner for 2 at the steakhouse and a bottle of wine. But, NCL processes it an OBC.

We are trying to figure out what to do in Cartegena. We don't just want to stay on the ship because we will probably not make it back there. What plans do you guys have?

I saw in someones trip report that they took a Mangrove canoe trip and that looks pretty interesting. Does anyone know if DCL used to offer this excursion or who to book this through on our own?

Thanks

I went there but couldn't find it. I have one credit for $50 but I'm hoping to get enough to defer some of gratuities . If you see it again can you let me know ?

One of my friends did the city tour and they weren't impressed. We originally signed up for Rosario island tour last time but not sure if we will do it this time.

You must be going to Atlanta on the same flight. This one I asked for a quote was 7 passenger. I think it is listed for $120.

Yep, Atlanta and then on to Minneapolis. $120 may be a good rate, I have seen Houston 24 hr Taxi at 200, Royal Carriages at 195, Galveston Limo is 150, Super Shuttle 141 and waiting response from Airport Transfer.

I really wanted to do the mangrove tour but now it isn't listed as a tour for Cartagena. It was just there a few weeks ago! I'm really bummed about that. In was looking forward to that excursion the most.

We are doing Best of Cartagena. Don't feel comfortable enough to do a private excursion so picked one of the DCL excursions.

We're doing that same excursion. It appeared to be one of the most comprehensive ones they offer. I prefer doing excursions through Disney when I'm in a strange country.

I just sent a PM to folks on roll call with kids in the YES program range for Disneyland before our cruise. I couldn't find Grizmom listed to send the message - so if you read this know I tried to contact you to see if you wanted to participate. I think we now have 3 kids interested (all have younger siblings not in the program) and need 7 more! Please help spread the word so these kids can do this program!

OK, so I think we all agreed the meet would be easier on our first day at sea vs. when we get on the ship. We don't want to miss a Panama Canal talk or get into the Palo brunch time too much - so I think we will have a tenative time of 10:30 AM. If we can coordinate a room when we get on the ship it will be inside, otherwise we will meet on the 'secret deck' on 7 aft.

Is anyone able to add events to the first page of our thread? I think if we could put things there it would be easier for folks who join later to find them - my posts don't show up till later. I will add events to our facebook page too.

The wine tasting we have the same plan - 7 aft as a back up plan but hope to get a room when we get on the ship.

I know many of us are GTY and may even try for upgrades at the port. Is there anyone who is 100% sure of their room who would be willing to have a list posted where we can all put our cabin numbers? That way we can use the wave phones to send out locations and reminders for the group activities.

I think my post with the roll call is the best one since it is on page 1. I will work on that tonight and get it updated with all that additional.

My room is also 100% and since I need any changes for FE let's use me. Room 6080.
