Panama Canal Cruise - What to do on all of those sea days

Just a totally stupid question, you can do more then one Brunch on those cruises???

You may sign up for one brunch and one dinner before you sail. Then on embarkation you can try to book another. But with 8 sea days there are plenty of opportunities for brunch. My $30 is as good as anyone else's, so if there is availability I may have brunch twice a week. And one dinner, just so I can have that chocolate soufflé again :)

I would strongly recommend Palo on the Panama Canal day in advance. I think you will never have a problem with getting brunch on any other day while on board.

But remember, the average age on the cruisers is probably around 40, different from any of the shorter cruises. Like I said, only 250 kids on our last one.

My teenagers brought Cards Against Humanity, regular playing cards, and Uno. We didn't infringe on their 18-21 group of friends for CAH. Mimi, Poppa, Mom, & Dad were cool to join for afternoon Uno which was a lot of fun. We played several afternoons in Diversions.

We loved the classic movie mornings. I only wish they did more.

My favorite of all shows was the Elton John tribute show. That guy was gooooood! Everyone in the audience was singing along, enjoying. It was great.

The crew talent show! When the deck crew (the guys in the yellow jumpsuits you see outside every day) came out full-band rockin the Guns-n-Roses I thought they were gonna bring down the joint. The audience went craaaaazy! They were so so good!

I was pretty burned out on the standard DCL menus going into our WBPC. I've taken to ordering my own custom dinners: whatever the dinner salad is x2 + a lighter note steak cooked medium. I cut up the steak, dump it in the giant salad, drown it in whatever dressing they have, and it's dinner. I just can't eat all the heavy things day-in, day-out. I'm no fan of cruise desserts....yes, including the chocolate soufflé everyone goes so nutty over. Not something I enjoy. Our servers were really sweet and took to bringing me dishes of fresh berries. I thought that was sweet (literally!) and I enjoyed it.

Pretzels. Trust me. Afternoon pretzels are your friend. ;)

I enjoyed early morning runs on deck 4. Great scenery. Saw lots of dolphin pods. The day we were in bigger swells was particularly fun because when the ship pitched down it felt like I was floating but then when it pitched up it was like I was carrying twice my weight. I really enjoyed being outside early.

I wanted to book brunch that day but it isn't offered online for the May sailing. My roomie is platinum so I was booking as soon as the window opened. Still hoping they offer it when we get onboard.

We had no problem getting brunch on the ship for the PC day. Our sailing, others may have different experiences. We also had lots of private group tastings set up in advance. Trivia, reading on deck, classes galore. Movies, character meets, dancing lessons, food demos, there was so much to do. Besides, relax and just do nothing. I went on the EBPC right after 2 months of insane hours at work and no days off, so was ready for some R&R and it was magical. One of my favorite cruises ever and I cannot wait for the timing to work out again so that I can go again!

I too was worried about all those sea days when my husband and I decided to do the 2015 EB cruise this past Oct. Turns out I absolutely loved it. As others have stated, there are plenty of activities to keep you entertained. I just wanted to give another "plug" for BBB for dinner. We tried this near the end of our cruise and really enjoyed it. It's table service in the evening, not buffet. They seem to have selections from the other dining rooms. We went when it first opened for dinner and it wasn't crowded at all. The food was fresh and served hotter than it usually is when dining in the huge MDR's. Much quieter as well. An all together very pleasant alternative dinner choice!

I have been on all the WBPC done by DCL to date. I say RELAX. Thats what I do. Of course there are things that are great to do like the Crew talent show is a don't miss. If they do the Pacific Pool party at the cove for adults only again I would not miss that. There should be a movie premier of the new caption America movie that that suits you. So much to do or not do. Enjoy. Maybe we will see each other.

Everything sounds so fun! I really like the idea of BBB for dinner. I always feel sort of guilty when we do not go to the main dining room, but I think that we will just roll with whatever we feel like on this one. LOVE the suggestion for the binoculars! I have added them to our packing list. sweetpea_1993 DH and I are BIG fans of those pretzels - yummmm!
