Hello fellow cruisers....my DW and I will be sailing on the 6/2 Alaska cruise and really would like to stay the night before at the Pan Pacific Hotel. The going rates seem to be 300+ and I have been checking around....should I just suck it up and pay it or does anyone have any secrets that we may try to get a better rate? Thanks.

Definitely try Hotwire. I was able to get it for $176 a night for two nights on Hotwire (same nights were running $400 rack rate).

We were successful once in getting the Pan Pacific for $175 using the Hotwire trick.

Also, keep an eye on the Fairmont Waterfront (directly across the street from Canada Place). I actually prefer the service at the Fairmont better than the Pan Pacific, and occasionally their best published rate is cheaper.

We stayed at the Fairmont and could not have been more pleased. Stayed in a gold level room that we booked far in advance (I think through amex) and the rate was amazing…. as was the gold level service! Could not have been more pleased! We could see the Wonder from the Gold lounge outside deck the morning we embarked. Have a wonderful trip!

I signed up for specials several years ago. We got a good rate with one of their deals. Loved the hotel.

Hotwire - watch the rates. Its the 85% thumbs up in Coal Harbor. I got it for $176/night + Tax/fees which worked out to $215/night.

If you use the Hotwire App between now and the end of the month they have a discount of $25 off your reservation with the code APP25. I stalked the site for a long time before pulling the trigger. I saw it go from $176 to $215 per night pre tax.

We are staying there for 2 nights in 2 rooms before the June 9 cruise.

Just looked at Hotwire....for 5/31 - 6/2 (2 nights) $194/night

We are sailing out of Vancouver in May--well DH is-I am arriving on the Wonder as I am doing a B2B), so I started looking at hotels for him last summer. I found a good rate for the Pan Pacific on AAA's website, but for some reason I didn't want to book thru them (might have had to prepay, can't remember). So I e-mailed the Pan Pacific directly, quoted the AAA rate and asked if they would honor it.

They wrote me back the next day that they would, so I booked a double for one night for $194--comes out to $226.01 with the taxes and fees. They required a credit card to hold the reservation, but did not charge the card yet.

Unfortunately, for that one Alaskan sailing, May 24, the Wonder will not be leaving from Canada Place, but will be leaving from the Ballantyne Pier, so all the benefits of just heading down the elevator to the pier are null and void.

I am trying to get the pan pacific on Hotwire, but the only thing that I get on my dates is a 5 star coal harbor with 90% rating not 85% , could it be that the rating went up or is this the wrong hotel? Anyone checked lately or tried to get this hotel recently? Thanks!!!

I would like to find out about this as well. Thanks in advance!!:worship:

I am finding a 5 star normally at $437/night for $213 with 100% rating in Coal Harbor area. Even if it isn't the Pan Pacific that seems like a pretty good deal!

It is crazy how difficult it is to get a room for June 12th,13, 14 and 23rd. On June 12 neither one have a room. We booked Pan Pacific Alaska Cruise Package for $370.00 a night. I am not sure if it was smart to book the package for both nights but you get breakfast each day. On June 23rd prices for a standard view is around $500-600 not including taxes. That so expensive. Why are these places so out of control?

I was hoping to find a Pan Pacific deal and didn't have any luck. I was stressing out about cost and availability for a hotel before our cruise (we leave June 22 and are staying three nights pre-cruise) and found a decent priced hotel (Marriot) one block from the Pan Pacific. For $134 a night, I decided it was a bargain that I didn't want to pass up, so I booked it.

It's June; just about the perfect time to be in Vancouver. It's huge cruising season. I bet there are festivals happening.

It's not out of control, it's just a busy time in a touristy area at a touristy time.

There are SO many hotels in downtown Vancouver that are very nice. Yes the Pan has a great location. But NO, it's not the only hotel to stay in if you're cruising. There are tons of others that are great and nearby.

The Women's World Cup is in Canada next summer. Some of the matches are in Vancouver so that is another reason why rooms may be booked up.

How much was the room without the package? If it only gives you breakfast for an extra amount then it's probably not worth it. I remember when I was researching before our stay in 2013 the breakfast was insane, or felt insane to me :) We booked without a package and got harbour view for $300 total a night. There are so many breakfast places nearby, including just going under the hotel to the "subway" area and there is a Tim Horton's there, McDonalds, etc.

I was willing, and had no regrets, paying $300 a night for our harbour view room and I know others get it for less but for me I'd do it again, no doubt!

Enjoy - it's a great place to stay and Vancouver is amazing!

I believe it was $25 more for breakfast for 2, bringing baggage down to the terminal to be checked in and late checkout.
