Hi all,
We are booked and ready for our cruise in a month however I've noticed that the same room we currently have booked at the Pan Pacific is about $100 cheaper if I just reserved it as a prepay compared to the "Alaska Cruise" package. The perks involved in the Alaska Cruise package are breakfast for 2 (we have four so that isn't real helpful) and late checkout (we have a early port arrival time, so again not real helpful). I've read from many folks that Pan Pacific will take your luggage to the terminal for you but am wondering if the only way to get that service is through the Alaskan Cruise package. Anyone stayed their before? TIA - Maegan

We stayed at the Pan in June and did not have a package of any type, just a basic room. We called luggage services around 10:00 and they came up and took our bags with no problem.

Yep, don't pay for the Alaska package unless you want the breakfast. We actually just walked our bags down. It's so easy! Down a couple elevators and through a parking garage. We loved the Pan. Some of my favorite pictures of the trip are DD swimming with the mountains in the background. Just gorgeous views! Also, waking up to the ship right below us was SO NEAT!

We just booked a room at the PP, and the morning of our cruise we took our luggage down the elevators and then across to the port. It was really easy...

We stayed at PP in June and did not have a package. Called room service around 8 AM (which was the time they recommended), they came and got luggage and didn't see it until we were on ship

You don't need any special package at the Pan to have them pick your luggage up from your room. It was easy and we booked through Hotwire.

We brought our own bags down to port, it was quick and simple.

We stayed at the Pan in May with a AAA breakfast package. The buffet was excellent and a great sendoff before the cruise. I took pics if anyone is interested.

As previously mentioned, the cruise luggage pickup is a hotel courtesy to all guests and not linked to any packages. We simply called bell services around 8:30am and they picked up our tagged cruise bags from us at the room. We didn't see them again until they were delivered to our stateroom on the ship. What a great service.

I'll have to look up the price of the buffet but I believe it was around $20 CAD.
So if that's $100 US in savings the change may be well worth it as long as you don't lose your reservation in the process.

Full buffet is CAD $29.50. You can also order a la carte. Must items around CAD $22.50.

In addition to the Panny, Fairmont Waterfront (across the street) and Pacific Rim (3 blocks down road) offers a similar service.
Personally, I prefer to bring my own luggage and stay at cheaper hotels. I notice on one travel site, a traveller used the luggage service and one bag ended up on the wrong cruise ship when the bags were delivered in bulk.
