Hi there!

Anyone have any info or experience on flying Pan Am? We are thinking of trying this in November. They are a little more expensive than Southwest out of Manchester, but their times fit our schedule much better. Makes me a little nervous though - there is only one flight scheduled each way per day - do they ever cancel?

Also, has anyone rented a car from Sanford Airport - we are thinking about going with Dollar - since we need a minivan. Is the selection poor, since the airport is so much smaller?

Also, can't find anything for security times, and recommended check in times. Any hints?

Lastly - they use 727-200's. Any info - is this a safe plane?

Thanks for any info - I know I worry too much!

We used Pan Am last March. We flew from Allentown Pa to Sanford Fl. The flight was one oth the best. My wife still tells people about the warm towels they came around and gave us.
We also liked the Sanford airport because it was small, easy in, easy to get luggage. the only drawback for us was the town car service we always use. It cost more (Sanford is in different county) and took longer to get to WDW.

Thanks for the info - I think we are going to go for it - it's only $20/rt more than Southwest out of Manchester - and the times are awesome - not booked up yet! Also, I'm pretty sure parking is free at Pease.

Anyone rent a car from Sanford? How is the selection? Any recommendations?

We fly out of pease a lot.......free parking, no longer warm towels or cookies though.....but seats are bigger than other ailines,
They are first come first served in seating so we have a 6 year old and get there at least 90 minutes prior......they call people to board by there numbers, which I like better than the SW cattle call....if your children are 5 and younger you can preboard....we rent from Alamo or Dollar in the airport, No lines like at MCO either really fast car drop offs too.......the planes are large 727's...3 to a row 6 across...The only problem I have heard that sometimes since it is only one flight going down you make have a standard maintance delay but it hasn't happened with us and we have flown them at least 4 times now...........and Sanford to Disney area is only a 60 minute ride, up rte 4.....as long as it isn;t peak traffic crunch time..........have fun...

Thanks Heather!!

You have really put my mind at ease - I think I am going to book these today! I also checked the prices on line - we need to book a minivan - and now that Alamo/National are together - I was able to book through National for $50 cheaper - plus, since I have an Emerald Club membership - my DH can drive as well for free!!

I am glad to help......it made me look on line at Pan Am for next March which is out already.......so that was good to get me thinking soon for next years trip....have fun......fall is great in wdw

Does anyone have the website link for this??

Thanks! :)

Sure Beanie - Here you are - Pan Am's Website . I think we are going to go with it - it's a little more expensive than the cheapest price for Southwest - but parking at the airport is free, and they aren't sold out for the dates we want!

Hope it helps! I'll post how it went when we come back!
