Pampered Chef items

I LOVE their fly swatter, well as much as you can actually love a fly swatter. It has a little dust pan and even tweezers in the handle to pick up the dead flies. The family skillet with glass lid is very nice, but on the pricey side. They have nice cutting boards too, but I think you can get the same ones other places. I also like the big pizza cutter. The handle doesn't get hot.

Too funny, I love the fly swatter too.

My SIL sells it so I think I have most of the catolog. I must say everything is very good. I can't think of anything that isn't. (some are better deals then others.)

Stones are not just for pizza. Many people call the Large Round Stone or the Classic Round Stone the "pizza stone", just because for most people, that's what they first think to use it for.

You can use a stone for anything you make in a glass or metal pan. If you have the "pizza stone", you can do cookies, fish sticks, tater tots, french fries, cookie pizzas, etc. There's more to it than just pizza.

With the round stones and the rectangle stone, they are flat, but you can get a rack that you place the stone on that makes it easy to take in and out of the oven. It has handles and works quite well. A poster above talked about using it upside down for serving or display. That works well too.

Check out the whole stoneware line. There are tons of shapes and sizes to choose from; I am sure we all can find one shape and size that we use a lot in the kitchen to try out.

My personal favorite stone is the Stoneware Bar Pan. It is SO multi-purpose. Not only will it do bars, but chicken breasts, pork chops, crescent rolls, fish sticks, tater tots, cookies, jelly roll type cakes. You have appetizers, main dishes and desserts covered with that one pan. Not that the others can't do some of this stuff..it's just my favorite.

By the way...the tool that chops food...it is called the Food Chopper.

As far as must have's in the kitchen...everyone covered a lot of the basics. It just depends on what your needs are and what you are looking for. I know A LOT of people who have gone wild over the new Striped Simple Additions pieces that are multi-colored. Oh, and the new Roasting Pan with the lifetime warranty...lots of interest there. It will hold up to a 20lb turkey, but you can also use it to make the gravy because the drippings stay in the pan (meat rests on a rack) and you can also bake something like Baked Lasagna. Like I said, it just depends on what your needs are.

They do have their whole product line on their website. Check it all out.

They make a wire holder thing that's nice because you can turn it upside down and put the stone on when serve pizza at the table. I usually just use a pot holder to get the pizza stone out of the oven--it's no problem.

"It's no problem" she says. What's *wrong* with me???? :bitelip: (No need for anyone to offer truthful answers!) :p

Ahh...just saw that poster above mentioned a rack with handles for getting stone in and out of oven easily. Must have been other disfunctional bakers 'sides me! ;)

I LOVE the chopper. I actually brought it for DH, but I use it way more than he does. (Yes, DH cooks as much as I do.)

My favorite two PC products are the little(1Tbsp I think) scoop-I use it to make drop cookies-SO easy..and the ice cream scoop.

DH loves the spatula for the grill.

I also have the batter bowl and measuring spoons that i use often.

I have the wet/dry measuring cup that I never use and the 13x9 stoneware pan that I use only for making french fries because you don't have to flip them over. LOL
I know you can't wash it and that confuses me, there's grease in there from the fries and rinsing it out with water doesn't get that film off.
I can't imagine trying to clean it if I made lasagna or something in there.
Then they say you can use it with savory and sweet dishes..but what would brownies taste like baked in a dish that I use to make french fries and then can't wash? I just don't think washing without soap would take all the flavors out of it.

I must be missing something with the whole PC stone thing.

My most favorite kitchen item is from Pampered Chef, it's their ice cream scoop. It has that magic stuff in it that makes the scoop glide right through the hardest ice cream. Every time I go to a party I always buy another to have to give as a gift if I get invited to a house warming or something. :teeth:

I love the garlic press, the rice cooker, micro cookers, stones, $1 knives and $1 cookbooks!

All the stoneware items come with a scraper. You run hot water over the surface and scrape the film off. You can also use a kitchen brush. PC makes one, but any kitchen brush will do. It's really much easier than cleaning with soap. For my 9 by 13 pan, I just let the hot water sit in the pan for a while and then rinse it out, using the brush if I need it. That works fine for lasagna or baked goods. The stuff comes off much easier from the stoneware than it does from normal pans, and the hot water sterilizes it.

I LOVE Pampered Chef stuff! My most recent purchase:

Large rectangle baker dish in Cranberry
Pie gate - for keeping the insides of a pie from leaking out into the pan
Large batter bowl with lid
Spoon rest

My favorite and most used items are my pizza stone (it's so seasoned it's almost black!), the large drink pitcher, the small and large microwave cookers, and the melon baller/scoop. I usually use that for cookie dough. I'd love to get a set of their really nice pots and pans, so I need to have a party soon!

Soap is a base and can be absorbed into the stone. That's one big reason for not immersing in soap.

my most favorite and oldest item is the serrated knife that I use all the time for my fresh bread........it works unbelievable on even HOT bread........My chopper is still the best thing I have and use.......then the spatulaes......and the pizza cutter and my stones I love it all........ :cool1:

Everything I bought from pamper chef I was disappointed with except the stones. Either it would break or wouldn't work like it did at the demostration.

I love my Pampered Chef stuff. I finally had to stop going to the parties b/c there was nothing left for me to buy. (Boy, was DH happy! :teeth: )

Anyway, my favorite items are the black plastic microwave containers. I don't know what their real names are. Couldn't live without them.

Ahh, thank you!
Mine did not come with a scraper-I have PC party in November and I will pick up one then.

Measure All® Cup

It is my favorite. I use it for corn syrup and peanut butter. No scraping the measuring cup, you just zoom the inside cup up and the stuff comes out in a flash. It is great!!

I like the ice-cream scoop too.

I have lots of other stuff, but I barely use any of it. But these two things, I use all the time.

I own everything Pampered Chef sold from 1997 to 2002 because I sold it. I still use about 3/4 of it on a daily basis. On the odd occasion when something broke, I sent it back and they sent me a new one or replaced it with something different. I can't imagine what you have that didn't work right.

Never been to one of their parties but a friend gave me one of the pizza stones. Not that I'm a *super wuss* or anything, but those things are heavy....and awkward. I usually have cuts on my hands from working with glass, so they're sore a lot. But hey....how are you supposed to handle that thing???? :earseek: No handles (at least on mine) to reach down and pull it up out of the oven. I finally just packed the thing away but I'll admit I did like the crust on pizza better with the stone than a conventional metal pan.

Go to a party! They sell handles! I love mine. But I have friends who never take thier stones out of the oven... just use it over and over. They tell me it makes the oven heat more evenly even when they're not using it. But I love my handle.

The stone is great but my favorite item is the chopper... I don't remember what it's called either but it is so fast and easy to clean! Much easier than getting out the food processor. I also love the corn butterer! Little gaget but very helpful. :flower:
