In case you missed Day 1 and Day 2 - here's the cast:
Two Die-Hard YC/BC fans: Me, 41 & my DH, a.ka. Uncle Albert, 33
MISSION SPACE CHICKEN & "FREEZING"
I awoke Wednesday morning to a tap on the door. It was my DH. He had tip-toed out of the room and snuck down to Captain Cooks to get coffee and doughnuts for breakfast. What a nice treat - breakfast (sort of) in bed. It was a nice gesture wasn't it? It was - but he had an alterior motive.
We walked to the TTC and took the monorail to Epcot. It was early entry day. We arrived about 8:30 or so. We walked in and my DH steered us towards Mission Space. We had both discussed and discussed whether we were going to ride this attraction as we both get motion sickness just from riding in the back seat of a car. As of the night before, we were both "undecided." Well, DH had secretly decided we was going to go for it and that's why the light breakfast of a measly doughnut. He was so brave...walked right in. I, however, chickened out. I sat outside waiting along with some other chickens. I met someone from the DIS. Her name is Sleeping Beauty Mom - if you're out there "HELLO." She too chickened out and was waiting on her daughter. I watched folks come out and honestly all of them were smiling and seemed quite "normal." Sleeping Beauty Mom's daughter loved it. Of course, she's a young child and can take it. But, shortly after her return a man about 60+ years old came off just smiling and beaming. He said it was intense but amazing. I felt quite slack at this point, especially since Sleeping Beauty Mom's daughter had convinced her to try it and they had already gotten fast passes for later. What a slacker chicken I am. Here came my DH. He was perfectly fine - loved it! He said it was "very well done." Couldn't tell it was spinning and didn't feel sick or light headed or anything. He wanted to get a fast pass and ride again but I still didn't have my nerve up yet so we moved on to Test Track.
We did something we've never done - we waited in the stand-by line for Test Track. When we go, usually in May or the summer, the line is too long so we've always done the single riders line. No need this time as the line was only 15 minutes.
After Test Track we decided we didn't have enough caffiene in our bodies so we went to the Fountainview Cafe for a latte. It was nice and relaxing. The sun was out and the fountain was doing it's thing. We sat outside and watched and talked about Mission Space. He was still trying to convince me but I wasn't budging.
After the java we went over to The Land Pavillion and saw the Environmental Film with the Lion King Cast...what is the name of that??? I can't remember. Anyway, it's cute but I think it should be in Animal Kingdom. Maybe at Rafiki's Planet Watch. I noticed that Soaring Over California is in progress - well - maybe not actually in progress but they have a sign up that says "Coming in 2005" inside the Land Pavillion. I'm looking forward to it. Oh - before we did the film we got a fast pass for the Liviing with the Land boat ride. We did that and got real hungry. Imagine that!!! With that huge doughnut I had several hours ago I can't imagine why we were hungry.
We decided to go over to the Beach Club and have lunch at Beaches & Cream, which we love. As we passed by Canada - we decided to take in the film first. It's been years since we've seen it. By this time I was indeed starving. We love Beaches & Cream. I like the jukebox. Someone ordered a Kitchen Sink and the CM's made quite a big deal about it. It's amazing to watch them make this thing. I took several pictures. I'm sure I made the CM nuts.
We had absolute intentions of going back to Epcot after lunch. But, we didn't. The food and ice cream made us tired. So, we took the bus from the Boardwalk back to the Poly for a refreshing swim to wake us up. The sun was going in and out - mostly out but we decided to brave it. I had heard so much about the volcano pool and had to try it. The pool was heated to a comfortable temperature. That was a relief. I got a big surprise. I had no idea that they piped in Hawaiin music underwater. How wonderful! I thought I was hearing things at first. Nice touch. I liked the zero entry and the large beach area between the pool and the Seven Seas Lagoon. We relaxed awhile with our books, then swam. The clouds were thickening. When we got out of the pool, ohmygosh, what a wake-up call. It was freezing. We ran back to Tokelau and took a hot shower. Then headed back to Epcot.
We had PS at Le Cellier, one of our favorites. The service was excellent as usual. Food too! I've never been disappointed with this restaurant. After dinner we saw the American Adventure, did some shopping in Japan, and then lined up for Illuminations, Uncle Albert's favorite thing at WDW. It was amazing as usual. Then, we hopped on the monorail and headed back to the Poly. Love that monorail convenience.
Off to bed....stay tuned for Day 4....Animal Kingdom and a Warmer Pool Experience
