Everyone keeps talking about Palo's restarant Can someone tell me why its so popular and is it on the Wonder??? Im going on my 1st cruise in Nov. and I want to get all the helpful info I can. Thanks for all the good advice!!!!

My dh and I dined at Palo for dinner, brunch, and tea on our Western cruise. We enjoyed it very much. It's not just for the food, but we enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere. It was also great to be able to eat without worrying about our two sons. They were well taken care of in the clubs.
Hope this helps!

Palo is an adult only (18 or over) restaurant on both the Wonder and the Magic. It has wonderful food and a beautiful setting with windows all around. There is a $5 charge to make reservations at Palo and you need to tip the wait staff as they are not your regular servers (your regular servers are on your dining rotation). People skip (though I've read some that eat two dinners!) one of their regular dining rotation nights to eat at Palo. In my case, we don't care for Parrot Cay and try to make reservations at Palo for that night instead. You don't have to go to Palo; it's a choice. You also have to make the reservations around 1 p.m. on boarding day (check your Naviagator for the specific time) unless you are Cat. 1, 2, or 3 and then the concierge can do that for you. You can check out the Palo menu on either of these wonderful websites: castawayclub.com or dcltribute.com -- both websites have an incredible amount of information about the entire cruise. Hope that helps.

Palo charge on our last cruise a few weeks ago was $10.00 pp...If you are going on the Wonder 4 day(you didnt specify), Palo is a good choice for first or last night, since you will be dining at that rotation restaurant twice....If it is your first DCL cruise, and you get APTA rotation(first night Animators Palate)...opt for Palo on last night....The AP light show is cool, and it is not repeated the second time you dine there....

If you are going on the 3-day, my advice is to skip Parrot Cay for Palo....Even though IMO the food at PC is far better than AP (ugh), you'll get to check out PC at the embarkation buffet... Do not skip Tritons, the food and ambiance is special...

Try not to miss Palo....although it takes an extra effort to make a res to go, it is well, well worth it...the food and service is a cut above anything else on the ship....

The service is spectactular!
We caught some rough water and I was a little seasick the morning of our brunch. Although I thought I could make it, I had to leave abruptly.
Shortly there after we received a call from Palo's to make sure everything was okay. They even sent a selection of desserts to our room!

Luckily, I didn't have anthing a dramimine couldn't cure, and we were able to enjoy Palo's later that evening. But oh, that brunch was so beautiful!

Our air is booked through DCL and our flight will not arrive in Orlando till 12:30 pm. We will be getting DCL transfers to the port. Is it possible to get Palo reservations if we arrive that late?
It is our first cruise and I would hate to miss this experience.
Thanks!

It's very likely that you will not make it to the ship until 2pm. You since you are on a 7 night cruise you have a good chance of making Palo ressies (you may have to be flexible). I'm not sure how late the lunches go to - you may want to stop in at Parrot Cay or Topsiders for a bite to eat first.

Even if you don't make it to lunch, up on deck 9 theres there is Pluto's (burgers/brats/hot dogs, nachos, chicken strips), Pinnochio's (Pizza - which is very good - especially the daily special) and Scoops (Ice Cream, chocolate chip cookies and fruit). These are open until 3 on embarkation day and then shut down for the manditory safety drill. They reopen after the drill.

Have fun.
