The wine tasting was very nice. The tables are set up already for you and you get to pick where ever you want to sit. I would pick a place you can see the bar from. We had 5 CM's helping us. Very knowledgable staff. You have a selection of whites and reds. You also have wine crackers to enjoy between tastes. At the end you get to try Disney's champagne. You also get a special pin for attending. We truly enjoyed this and plan to get tickets in September.

How far ahead of time do you know about the wine tasting? And do you book this at Guest Services?

Does it cost anything for the wine tasting? :confused3
Yes, the wine tastings are $12 per person. On the 7-night cruise, there were three different ones...different wines each time. We only did one but learned a lot! I'd do it again, definitely.

Go if you're looking for fun, never done a wine tasting before or would like to sample wines that you might order for dinner on your cruise. Don't go if you hope to really learn a lot about wines or if you've done wine tastings before and consider your self confident in your wine knowledge. We've done them before early in the cruise and enjoyed them, but it isn't something we do everytime.

Beware...the wine tasting can turn you into an alcoholic! ;)
My husband was practically a teetotaler when we first started cruising. After the wine tasting (which we first did many years ago), he was intrigued and started trying various wines with his meals. Now, he is quite the wine buff. We recently did the tasting again (we're still far from knowledgeable), and we thoroughly enjoyed it again.

You go to GS to sign up. Look in your navigator for the time frame. We truly enjoyed it. And the CM's doing our wine tasting was very knowledgeable. We plan on doing it again in September. I would be very disappointed to miss it.

We did all 3 dining experiences at Palo and tea was not my favorite. It was a nice get away from the rest of the ship & the atmosphere at Palo can't be beat. BUT that being said I wasn't at all impressed by the food, dry scones (currant scones only), tea sandwiches with not a lot of flavor and desserts that were bland and nothing special. However I did enjoy the tea :teeth: . This isn't the first time I have had High Tea so I may be pickier than others. I know for my negative opinion there are many positives so I would say if you have the time, try it. The cost isn't that much and IMO it is always fun to try something new.

Wine tasting was fun and DH did find a wine he now enjoys, We also did the Martini tasting which I really enjoyed! Both can be booked through Guest Services (on board) or through a consierge if you are in cat 1,2, or 3.

My husband says that if he could only do one event at Palo, it would be High Tea. He had about 3 different teas and of course all of the finger sandwiches.

Do the wine tasting fill-up? Do we need to go to GS as soon as we know which day they are doing it?

Also do they have any other tastings? I saw someone said Martini.

During our recent four night cruise they offered beer tasting :drinking1 while at port in Nassau and during our at sea day. The price was $10 per person. (Samples of beer from around the world and pub trivia)

My DH was too upset that he missed both sessions. :sad1: On Nassau day we went to Atlantis and during our sea day we went to the matinee showing of Disney Dreams.

Oh well...we now have another reason to take another cruise! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

Does the navigator just show the wine tasting on the day it happens or do you have some advance warning so you can book ahead of time?

You must sign up for the wine tasting. Normally you can do so at Guest Relations when you board the ship. The sessions have been know to fill up quickly at times.
