Palo sitting charge for dessert in the bar?

Hi all,

Leaving on the 9/25 Western Magic and wondering if anyone knows whether or not you get charged the service fee in Palo's if you just drop in for dessert and a drink in the bar.

I'm thinking Chocolate Souffle for seven nights!!!!

We stopped in for a dessert and drinks at the bar one evening and were not charged a surcharge. We paid for our beverages, and tipped accordingly (even though gratuity was added for the alcohol)

This is a new thought...I didn't know that you could just pop in for dessert...

How exactly did you do this? Just walk in and ask if there was availability for sitting at the bar for dessert? I'm just curious so that if I decide to do so on our cruise I will have an idea of how to do so successfully.

I just got off of the Wonder a few days ago and while we were at brunch we asked about stopping up and getting dessert at Palo and sitting at the bar. We were told that we were not allowed to do that. Maybe it's different on the Magic.

We did it on the Wonder and Magic both.

Just stop on in--the bar is open, and you are more than welcome to get a dessert while you are there.

Trust me, it was not an issue (in fact the dessert was offered to us because originally we stopped to get a drink but I wanted a souffle while we were there.)

I am really looking forward to finally being able to try the souffle and doing this allows us to have dinner with the kids as a family, then take them to the club & have some adult time at Palo without being on a schedule.

Might be that it's not advertised .. otherwise the Palo bar would be PACKED to the rafters every night.
