I've seen a few people say that they get in line for reservations as soon as they board the ship and they are told there aren't any reservations left... Is it really that often that you're turned down for the entire length of your trip? We'd really like to go to celebrate our anniversary and will be disappointed if told that there aren't any openings.

Upon boarding, I'd recommend going directly to book your Palo reservation. If you go to the buffet for lunch and then try to book, you may end up disappointed... trust me...the buffet will have food...but you want that ressie for Palo!!

If, for whatever reason, you don't get a reservation...don't panic!! Ask to be placed on the waitlist. You could also stop by Palo and introduce yourself to the Dining Rm Mgr... explain that it's your anniversary and you'd even take a cancellation. If all else fails...you can go to Palo and ask to sit at the bar for dessert only.

If you're on a seven day sailing, don't discount the Champ. Brunch...it's WONDERFUL!!!!! We also did the High Tea. My hubby thought he'd hate the High Tea, but it turned out that he had a really nice time. The Champ. Brunch is $10pp and the High Tea is free (but you have to book reservations for both).

Have a great cruise and a happy anniversary!!

We cruised in August on the 7 day. As soon as we boarded we made our reservations for brunch, tea and dinner and were at the Parrot Cay buffet in less than 10 minutes after we boarded to meet the rest of our party.

Thanks! I plan on making a beeline to the reservation area, hopefully not getting lost. We are doing the 3 Day Disney/4 Day Cruise, so hopefully our transfer from the hotel will get us to the boat early enough to be able to make the reservation.

Gdelaney,

So, incase I don't get a reservation, I can at least go to the bar and have that infamous chocolate souffle?

We went as soon as we got to the ship, (around 1:30) and there were plenty of seatings left for the night we wanted. However, our cruise was not full, and we were on the four night, so I can't comment on the Tea and Brunch.
For our 7 night we plan to be there when they open in hopes of getting those!::MickeyMo

We leave very soon for our anniversary 3 day. We soooo want to do Palo at least once. BUT we won't get the ship until around 2:00. Do we even stand a chance?

we were on 3 day back in January...didnt get to ship until 2...still got the Palo reservation we wanted....don't worry, you wont be shut out...

Where exactly do you go to make these coveted reservations? And does the location change on each sailing? We're not going until next April.

It seems on the 7 night they take reservations immediately - and with 7 nights to accomodate people it's pretty easy to get a Palo ressie.

On the 3 night (& I assume the 4 night) they don't start taking ressies until later. I'm assuming that since availability is so much more limited with only 3 or 4 nights, they want to wait until most people have arrived before opening it up.

The location will be identified in the paper you get when you check in at the terminal, so you'll know where to go.

I think that you can get the souffle at the bar. I'd recommend talking to the dining room manager at Palo and see what he or she suggests. The souffle is delicious!! Actually, everything that we had was yummy!

If you can't get a reservation, has anyone tried just popping in to see if there is an availability at the time they had hoped to dine? I've read several TRs where they were surprised by an empty Palos considering the trouble getting ressies.

I guess because of the nature of cruises, you aren't often just hanging out in your room...so by the time they know that people aren't showing - it's kind of hard to locate anyone on the list for cancellations.

Hey - another thought - has anyone ever left the pager # (they give you from the Kids programs) as a way to reach them if there's an opening?? Just a thought! :)

So what do you recomend doing for the 3 day..........buffet first.......or get in line for palo ressies first.......i'll be ariving bright and early at the port

I've been reading that since we are going to WDW first before our cruise that we don't have to check in again at the ship (waiting in the check in lines) I'm hoping this will give us an edge towards reservations!! :p

If you are going on the Magic, you'll go to Rockin' Bar D which is on deck 3 (the same deck you board on) forward.....Andy

I'd head for Palo ressies....the buffet will still have plenty of food, but Palo might run out of ressies!

Just back:D
DOUBLE DIP WAS GREAT!!!!
Arrived at the ship around 1:30 and headed straight for wavebands. Made our Palo reservations for 6:30 on Thursday night. Regular dinner seating was 8:30. Had the TAP rotation so only needed to dress up for the one night. Food was wonderful at both Palo & Tritons. We had not ate much all day so we ate slow and enjoyed the food. We were full but mot miserable. We would highly recommend Double dipping if you can.:Pinkbounc
