Palo men's dinner attire dress shorts?

Obviously most of you haven’t been to Bermuda. The guys are dressed for their business offices in shorts and jackets.

Shop at any high end men's clothing store. Shorts are in leisure wear or casual wear. Anyone dinning at a high end restaurant should not be wearing shorts. Palo is such a restaurant. Read the official Disney website. Palo does not allow shorts at dinner. It does at brunch.

Let's remember this is not a debate about what you or I consider dressy or not. Everyone has different opinions, based on many factors. The bottom line is DCL does allow shorts for Palo Brunch, but not for Dinner and that is the dress code they do follow.

During a recent sailing on the Disney Wish, we found ourselves behind a sharply dressed couple checking in for dinner at Enchanté (the newer counterpart to Remy on the older ships). Their outfits were impressively coordinated—right down to the husband’s tailored shorts, which matched his partner’s ensemble with almost theatrical precision .

As they approached the hostess stand, the hostess kindly reviewed the dress code and offered to hold their reservation so the husband could change into long pants. The wife responded that he didn’t have any, prompting the hostess to offer a loaner pair and even asked for his size. The wife then explained that a concierge cast member had assured her that shorts would be acceptable. The hostess, clearly flustered but professional, apologized sincerely and asked for the cast member’s name to help ensure accurate guidance in the future.

Later that evening, after our own dinner at Palo, we spotted the same couple strolling the ship with their kids—husband still wearing the same outfit. Safe to say, they likely enjoyed a lovely (and much noisier) dinner in the MDR instead .

FYI: The day before your Enchanté or Palo reservation, you will receive a message in the DCL app outlining the dress code in detail.

I wish DCL would enforce the dress code every single time not just willy nilly.
Treasure in April at palo all men at the table had shorts on, the women were dressed nice. Enchante saw jeans that looked like they had come out of a dumpster. So they definitely were not enforcing the dress code on our cruise.
