Palo dress code

Where can I find the dress code for palo? Thanks!

From the DCL website:

Palo: (Disney Dream, Disney Wonder, Disney Magic) With its 270-degree ocean view from high atop the ship on Deck 10, Palo has the loveliest view of all restaurants on the ship. Palo is adults 18 and over only, and reservations are required. This restaurant features outstanding Northern Italian cuisine prepared to order.

The view from Palo is spectacular due to the restaurant’s location on the ship, but please keep in mind that the view is only “viewable” before sunset. Around the perimeter of Palo is a walkway, which at night is illuminated by bright lights. After sunset, the only things visible from Palo are those bright lights and a reflection of the interior of the restaurant. We would certainly not let this deter us from taking an available reservation at a later time, but we like to let guests know that an earlier reservation is often easier to get and offers the addition of the spectacular view and sunset. A new feature on the Dream is the option to dine outside on Palo's private teak deck.

Because your server does not follow you to this restaurant, a $15.00* cover charge per person is applied. In addition to dinner on both the Wonder and Magic, Palo brunch (Palo Brunch Photos ) is served at Palo on days at sea on the Magic and on the Wonder 4-night sailings. The same $15.00 fee is charged. On the Magic, there is a "High Tea" offered during the days at sea for a $5.00 fee. Reservations are required for all dining at Palo.

*Prices for Palo on the Dream will be $20 for dinner and brunch, and $10 for High Tea.

During dinner, gentlemen will be required to wear a dress shirt. Gentlemen wearing polo shirts, t-shirts, Tommy Bahama style shirts, etc will not be allowed admittance. Jackets and/or ties are recommended but not required. Notices will be in the Personal Navigator, on the Palo reservation card and a sign outside the elevators on deck 10 will contain this dress advisory. The Resort Casual dress code for both the brunch and high tea remains unchanged.

Thank you! I want to have it in print since I just got off my 8th cruise and was not allowed into brunch because of my outfit. It was one that I have worn on previous cruises but was told that it was not dressy enough. I plan on emailing DCL about the situation.

It is difficult to know what is allowable, especially when there can be so much room for interpretation by the individuals. We always try to go a bit above the minimum stated guidelines.

I am surprised you were not allowed, we were on a B2B a few weeks ago, and I was shocked on the lack of proper dress.

Maybe its the 4 and 3 night, but on the 7 night cruises, everyone has always been dressed great for brunch and dinner, the 3 and 4, kinda took the class away from Palo.

I still wore my suit and tie, and felt over dressed actually.

but if you have worn it before?

what does this mean?

Sound's like any upscale restaurant on land. The maitre 'd has final say.

At least you were close to "your home" to be able to change into what ever was more suitable in the maitre 'd's opinion! :goodvibes

So now I am curious what it was they said wasn't allowed and which ship you were on. I know that on the Magic this past January we got a message in the room advising that polos were not acceptable for brunch, so DH changed into his suit & I changed into a dress that went with that better. The man who was seated next to us was wearing a polo shirt. In July DH wore a polo shirt and khakis to brunch along with the rest of the guys in our group in the private room and nothing was said.

Can you please let us know what you were wearing? I've worn capris to brunch in the past and now it says they are not allowed, which it didn't say that before this past summer.

I wore dressy black capris with a dressy blouse for dinner last month with no problem on the Dream. The are wide leg, more like a split skirt.:confused3

I had on a pair of black pants with a white long sleeve shirt with a snowman on the front. Black clogs and black socks. It was cold so I had a black and white wind breaker with me. Christmas earrings with no other jewelry except wedding ring. It was on the Dream for brunch. I wore the same thing two years ago on the Wonder. And I have worn the same outfit to upscale restaurants in Atlanta with no problem. May just wear it this Thursday night! No flip flops, shorts, tank, or tennis shoes.
We had dinner at Palo on the Wonder in May and the man next to us had shorts with a tee shirt and tennis shoes on. I think they need to decide what the dress code is.

That sounds perfectly acceptable to me. I wonder what part they didn't think was dressy enough for brunch? :confused3
Had it been me I would have gone straight down to Guest Services and asked to speak with the Dining Services Manager and found out what was wrong with the outfit.

You obviously didn't want to wear the windbreaker in the restaurant! But did the Maitre 'd say what part of your outfit wasn't dressy enough or just a sorry you must change to be admitted?

"At Palo, dress pants and shirt or jacket is required for men and a dress or pantsuit is required for women. Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes."

I think the no capri thing is the dinner dress code. As far as I can see the brunch and tea dress codes are still cruise casual.

There is no separate dress code for brunch or tea vs. dinner. No doubt, the average attire is more dressed up at dinner, but the minimal requirements are the same at all Palo events.

Enforcement may be a different issue. We met a new Palo manager on the Magic last week. Actually we met a LOT of new people last week as many "old friends" are being sent on a short leave before resuming duties on the Fantasy in January. New seems to mean more "by the book" as they try to keep everything aligned across the 4 ships.

A year or two ago, we noticed a fair amount of difference between the way things were on the Magic vs. Wonder. DCL is trying to eliminate those differences.

Can you post a link to the Palo Dress Code that you posted on the first page? I'm curious to where you found that posted since the Palo prices are outdated in that 'copy & paste'. All the Palo info that is posted on DCL's website now does not differ from meal to meal.

I just went to check it, it was a link through the FAQ sticky above. It's apparently an "unofficial" DIS information site. :headache:

However, on our last Wonder cruise, we had to make a change on our Palo reservation when we boarded and they gave us a little card with our new reservation info on it. On the back it says:

"For dinner attire, a dress shirt or jacket is required, no shorts and no jeans.

For Champagne Brunch/High Tea, the attire is Cruise Casual (no shorts, swimwear or tank tops)." The italics are thiers.

Sorry for the confusion on the other info.

Oui. :confused3 Yes they do. We're going on a 4 day cruise on the 15th and I bought a floor length evening gown to wear to dinner at Palo's. Him on the other hand.. He's going to be dressed in tan khaki's, a black button down shirt and Red satin tie to match my dress.. Now I KNOW we won't be kicked out, but now I wonder if we won't be waaay to overdressed for the occasion?? Shoot I've already paid for the dress and alterations so it's getting worn! Lol:rotfl:
