I thought this announcement was a joke. We've dined at Palo on the Wonder(3X), Fantasy and Dream. Each time there were people who clearly didn't adhere to the "old" dress code - men and women. However all the guests looked neat and groomed. Yes we did see people wear nice jeans - usually dark and sandals (usually the men -Hirachi or Keen style. Most ladies just wore very nice opened -toed, but NO flip-flops.), but they were dressed very nice. I can still remember the first time My DH and I dined at Palo in 2008 on the Wonder, the table of eight next to us had four gentlemen who wore either Hawaian or golf shirts. It really did not matter to me, but it annoyed my DH because he was in a suit and tie. From that evening on we thought "Dress Shirt" just had to be a nice collared shirt - not just a button down Oxford. It's been almost eight years, Nov. 2008, since our first time dining at Palo on the Wonder. We both remember 3 things - how relaxed the dress code was from the literature, how great our waiter/waitstaff was and how romantic the evening was. Our 2DDs were 7 and 5 and it was quite awhile since we had a quiet "Us" time. The waiter kept insisting we try all these different appetizers and entrees and made some great wine suggestions. The waitstaff was sharp and very attentive but not pushy. (I wrote down all these notes about that sea/land trip). The last time we dined at Palo on the Dream in June 2013, the waiter actually discouraged us from getting a third entree to sample and kept pushing the same brand of wine - we wondered if he was working on an incentive basis from that winery.
