i checked in within minutes of my 90 day window opening and was unable to secure a reservation for Palo brunch on eaither of our two sea days for a party of 3. What are the odds I can get one by calling (in hopes someone may cancel an existing reservation?) or on the ship once we board?

Not all the reservations are available for booking in advance of the cruise. Some are held back to be booked on board. The Navigator you receive when you check in at the port will tell you when and where to go to get reservations for Palo. If you go right when they open, you should be able to get one. If there are still none available, they do take names for a waitlist for cancellations .

Odds are pretty good if you go directly to the Palo Reservations desk when you board. Might need to be a little flexible on the date/time, but it seems they only open up some of the slots for online reservations, allowing for a number of guests who don't really go online much.

Also, keep checking online. They will likely open more spots as the sailing gets closer.

You've got a fair chance if you go to dining changes immediately upon boarding (especially if you board relatively early).

In 17 cruises I have never been successful getting a brunch reservation for 3, at the same time it lets me get a reservation for 2. Family in another cabin have gotten reservations for 4 just a few minutes after I try 3, can never figure it out. I end up calling.

We have 8 sea days on our cruise and we didn’t have any brunches available.

We did book the private room with other cruise mates for a brunch, luckily we were able to get in.

They begin changing reservations for Dining around 1, I would definitely try to get on board closer to then. We have always been able to get what we want, being in line before 1.

Ah heck. I didn’t think about that when picking a 2:30 PAT.

Open boarding usually begins around 12:30. You can arrive around then and will be able to board as soon as you are checked in, barring any delays in the start of boarding, of course.

When does the brunch start and end?

The first reservations are at 10:00am and I believe the last reservation time is at 12:30.

Thanks less time then i would have thought.

Well, the 12:30 is the last seating time. With Palo brunch taking around 90 minutes on average (and some people taking longer), the brunch is actually lasting until 2:00 or after.

At Port Canaveral boarding typically begins 11:15-11:30.
But they don’t start taking reservation request until 1:00.
It will be listed in the Navigator where to go.

That's okay. You can arrive at the port at 11 or 11:30 if you like. They won't make you stand outside the port just because of your PAT- don't worry. You'll just get a high (late) boarding number upon check-in, but that won't really matter as open boarding begins around noon. Dining changes opens around 1, so you'll be good if you're onboard by then.

Is it any different for Miami?
It's the same process. We did that when we sailed the Magic out of Miami. I don't remember what the exact times were, but it didn't seem any different from the times we've done it at Port Canaveral.

In regards to the start and finish times of Palo brunch....in January we could not get a Palo brunch reservation online before so onboard I went to the dining changes venue and got in line to book Palo. I was put on a waitlist and got a call the next day that they could fit us in (party of 4). They decided to open up Palo at 9:30 instead 10:00 am to accommodate all the waitlist people.

I can hardly ever get a Palo reservation beforehand but have never been shut out once onboard.

We've been able to snag advance reservations once the paid in full date passes and folks end up dropping out.
