PALO BRUNCH MENU

Palo Brunch.jpg

Going to experience Palo Brunch on an upcoming cruise. I am not really an "eat a lot at breakfast" person and was wondering, if you have eaten there, what are your favorites? Probably a one time thing so trying to get recommendations.

ANTIPASTI - Meat or fish?

EGGS - Cheese & Ham Frittata, Zucchini Frittata, 3 Cheese Omelet, Tomato & Onion Omelet, Poached Eggs on Toast (with Ham, Spinach & Asparagus, or Smoked Salmon?

SOUPS - Tomato & Basil or Celery?

WAFFLES & PANCAKES - Strawberry, Apple Cinnamon, Buttermilk or Blueberry?

PIZZA - Margherita, Goat Cheese & Sun Dried Tomato, or Spicy Italian Sausage OR Calzone with Prosciutto, Basil, Bell Peppers and Mozarella Cheese

ENTREES - (see descriptions above)
Roallatini Melanzine, Parmesean-Crusted Chicken Breast, Lasagna, Veal Saltimbocca, Wild Mushroom Ravioli, Roasted Red Snapper Filet or Grilled Cut Sirloin Steak

NOTE: Only want to order one (or no) option from each catagory, no wish to try "tasting" a bunch of food. Thanks!

Personally, I don’t order the waffles or pancakes. It’s honestly the only category I skip. I think the other foods are where Palo shines (including the eggs Benedict).

I also feel like the Palo servers are amazing at suggesting. I follow their recommendations and everything I’ve had has been amazing.

ANTIPASTI - Meat (I don't eat fish)

EGGS - skip...I can get eggs or omelets at any breakfast

SOUPS - usually skip, but IF I get it, I get Tomato. I don't like celery.

WAFFLES & PANCAKES - skip

PIZZA - 1/2 Margherita and 1/2 sausage

ENTREES - Chicken Parmesan

Those are my choices.

The goat cheese pizza is definitely a must try!

The chocolate fondant is possibly the best ive had anywhere in my life and ive done a lot of fine dining. You cant not miss it.

Pizza- ask for the grape and gorganzola.

Note palo brunch doesnt just replace breakfast but lunch as as well. Its brunch.

Tomato soup is good.

There are a lot of courses and it's not really possible to eat from all of them. They also bring a bread basket and come by with pastries. I had brunch the other day and had:
Almond croissant
Poached egg on toast with spinach and asparagus
Parmesan crusted chicken

I was completely stuffed and didn't want dessert, but my server insisted. So, I had the Panna Cotta, which was very light .

For drinks, I had a mimosa and coffee.
My server said that most people get order more items and then only eat half of everything. They don't let you take leftovers and I don't like to be wasteful.

shrimp and cheese.
Skip all breakfast things except pastries
If soup, tomato
Margherita pizza
Chicken parm… maybe eggplant
Panna cotta

Mimosa and enchanted forest fruit tea to drink

This is what I have had

Ask for the grape and gorgonzola pizza. It is not on the printed menu but it is possibly my favorite thing at Palo overall.

I really like the parmesan-crusted chicken breast as well.

During my last brunch, there were 3 of us. We did the meat antipasti, split the grape and gorgonzola pizza, and then each got our own entree and our own dessert. We were pretty full, but not stuffed.

I agree with others that a good Palo server will walk you through the menu, and can also give recommendations (either on their own, or based on what you like).

We've only been once but the standouts were the almond croissant, lasagna and margherita pizza.

DH and I shared the poached egg on an English muffin with ham and hollandaise, a pizza that was half Italian sausage half margherita, the chicken parmesan and lasagna. We decided to skip the antipasti, soup and waffles/pancake section but freely indulged in the bread basket and pastry tray.

We're doing brunch next week, what I vaguely remember from our last sailing is the following:

ANTIPASTI - We did meat, my husband doesn't like seafood

EGGS - I can't remember, I might have done poached eggs?

SOUPS - I got tomato and basil, he got the celery

WAFFLES & PANCAKES - We did whichever one the server recommended....my husband might have skipped this course as he typically doesn't do sweets breakfast

PIZZA - We might have done the grape and gorgonzola? Not on the menu.

ENTREES - I think I did lasagna and he did chicken parm. I was extremely stuffed though and wasn't able to eat more than a couple bites

We didn't do dessert because we had a kid in the nursery who was miserable

I wish I had taken pictures so I would remember what I ate! But I do remember getting almond croissants that were AMAZING

I know people swear by the grape and gorgonzola, but I don't get the love. Granted I only like grapes in the form of wine - otherwise the texture makes me gag, but... I had a server randomly bring me 1/2 of a flatbread without asking me and I had to force myself to eat at least some of it because I felt guilty (it had to be done on gluten-free crust) even though I hadn't asked for it.

I don't do the breakfast stuff but I get a dessert as my first course, the sticky bun. They used to have them (without the apple) in the buffet which was first, and I do think of that as breakfast so I go for it. ;)

I get the celery soup, (DH gets eggs) and DH and I split a half Margherita/Sausage pizza.

For entrees I get the Chicken Parm and DH gets the Veal Saltimbocca. I like to say we split the Lasagna but I think that's mostly me.

Not on the menu but Grape and Gorgonzola pizza is the BEST!

Appreciating all the replies and think this will help ANYONE who is going to experience the Palo Brunch! BadTink - you keep meticulous notes!

Unfortunately, it's not for a couple more months and this thread is really making me extremely hungry . . . .

I mean, the real star if the chocolate dessert, so don't forget to leave some space. Also, if you like iced tea, get that. It's unsweetened but they will give you sugars and sweeteners (the sweeteners dissolve better)

Typically:
ANTIPASTI - Meat because I don't eat fish. However, we did a group brunch and we got a mix of both, my husband and the others really seemed to enjoy the fish. But honestly we could probably skip this entirely and not miss it.

EGGS - Cheese & Ham Frittata- I've had this once, it wasn't mind blowing, but I'd eat it again if I fancied eggs. I might try the cheese omelette next time. My husband had the poached eggs with salmon and enjoyed them, he's not really an egg dish person though so that was surprising.

SOUPS - Ick, skip. My husband has had the tomato though and said it was nice.

WAFFLES & PANCAKES - I'm not a micky waffle fan and I don't tend to like pancakes, I prefer the crepe style ones, so we have previously skipped this. On our last one we saw a table close by have one so we ordered the Apple Cinnamon one. It was nicer than normal mickey waffles and I'd eat it again, but I'd defiantly share it with a tablemate if you can.

PIZZA - Margherita or sausage. I personally prefer just the margherita but the sausage is good too. I basically eat it for the pizza of it rather than the toppings, if that makes sense. (If you're doing dinner, the Burrata and Parma Ham (?) pizza is a good choice). I think I have also had the Calzone...I don't think you can go wrong with any of them as long as there isn't something you dislike on them. the stone baked pizza itself is one of my favourites.

ENTREES - Except for the Roallatini Melanzine, my husband has eaten all of them. He says the veal was "absolutely fantastic" (direct quote as he is sitting beside me as I type) and is his favourite out of them all.

I like the Parmesean-Crusted Chicken Breast (but don't like risottto so I ask the chef if they mind doing it with pasta, if not I'm happy to eat something else but they have not denied me yet). I also like the steak but feel its a bit of a waste getting steak when I get that (though not as nice a cut or cooked) in the MDRs.

Whatever you choose to order, I am sure you will enjoy it and I hope you have a great cruise and an awesome brunch.
