California experts,
I will be in Palm Springs in the July time frame (yes, hot I know).

According to online maps, it seems that the drive from PS to Anaheim is about 1.5 hours.

Does that 1.5 hours seem accurate?

Will there be a boatload of traffic in the early morning from PS to Anaheim? How about traffic weekdays vs. weekend?

Realistically, how long would a drive take if we leave PS at about 6:30 AM?

Are weekends in the summer busy days for Disneyland? Or does the fact that school is out, make the weekends less/more busy??

Any tips on a route/traffic from Palm Springs to Anaheim would be appreciated.....

Thanks in advance

My husband and I live in La Quinta (not too far from PS) and made a few trips to Disneyland in July-August '09. We left about 6:30 and got there at a lil' before 8am every time. We always left on a Saturday. 6:30am is def a good time to leave, if you leave a lil' later however, between 7am-8am, you'll catch much heavier traffic.

Disneyland in July was PACKED, but the summer months always are. The best time was after the last fireworks show, because the park emptied out and we were able to get on 6 rides from that time until closing.

It will be hot, crowded, hot and packed with people in July. There's just no way around that. But if you're 1.5 hours from Disneyland, how can you pass up the chance to go?! Plan accordingly and you'll have a great time!

I did it on Saturday and it was EASY! Took about 1.5 hours! The way back was a bit worse, granted it was pouring and we left at 4:30ish! We even stopped at the Character wharehouse store on the way back!
