My daily diet is Paleo based and I'm looking for ideas for no-carb breakfasts on the run. Everything seems to be carb and sugar based. We'll be staying at Shades of Green, will have a fridge, and will have groceries delivered.... Does anyone have good Paleo food suggestions for breakfast on the run? At home I eat boiled eggs and bacon every morning...And yes, before I get flamed, I am extremely healthy, cholesterol is excellent.... TIA!:goodvibes

Funny, I was interested in this, too. I just started eating paleo. Not easy though. The recipes I have found are just beyond strange. So I just eat as natural as I can - the starches (carbs, etc). It's hard to do at Disney, I bet. Anyway, I hope to hear more on this thread. :)

I actually had to look up what this is. Good for you for trying to stick to eating this way while on vacation. I think that, other than trying to create your own, at home bars with nuts or something, your only answer will be going to the restaurant and getting some sort of protein. You can obviously have fruits and things delivered from the grocery store. I know that they have microwavable, already cooked bacon, but don't know if you will have a microwave. What about some type of lunch meat? Is that acceptable on the diet? I hope someone can come on here with more answers for you.

I try to eat clean at home, but kind of give up on vacation. I'm weak, and it's easy!

A microwave is available in the laundry room...very good idea about the bacon. I really like my boiled eggs in the morning...they stick with me for hours and I don't feel hungry. But I think I'll have to do without...that's ok...if I can give up my Peet's coffee while on vacation, I guess I can give up eggs!:) I'm thinking protein shakes may be the way to go in the morning...try to stay away from the bars because a lot of extra carbs.

Thanks guys!! :flower3:

Musclemouse, I stay away from the recipes honestly. I work about 70 hours a week, working on my doctorate, have three kids, three boxers, and a military husband who is gone more than he is home. I love, love, love to cook but just don't have time at this juncture in my life. So I eat very basic...eggs and bacon in the morning; nuts, cheese, fruits for snacks; lunch is often leftovers from the night before; and dinner is meat and veggie based. My carb intake is with my wine...I refuse to give up my red wine!!!! (Read the second sentence of this post...now you know why I won't give up my red wine!!):rotfl:

Not sure what Paleo is, but I try to stay on a low-carb diet. While it does seem difficult to do at Disney, it's not that bad. :) Definitely stock up on cheeses, veggies, and lunch meats! I don't know how you feel about cottage cheese with fruit, but a little bit of that is good.

Also, while you're dining in the parks, if you alert your server of your dietary restrictions the chef will usually come out so you can both agree upon an alternative to starch/carb-y food you can enjoy guilt free ::yes:: cheers!

Great idea to talk to the servers...a no-brainer when it comes to food allergies, but I didn't think about doing it for my own voluntary diet restrictions. Thanks!! :)

Many stores sell pre boiled hard boiled eggs. They are in a bag and are pre peeled over in the egg/dairy case. I would also make cheese and deli meat roll ups.

I love the idea of rollups...thanks! I've tried the packaged peeled boiled eggs and did not like them...if I remember correctly, I hated the consistency, like eating rubber.

Thanks for your ideas!! Putting cheese and deli meat on my growing Garden Grocer list! :)

Do you eat pre packaged hummus or natural peanut butter? Both of these are great dips for cucumber slices or celery sticks.

Yes, DD and I love hummus which will make a great snack. Can't eat peanut butter but love almond butter...and that is very filling. More great ideas...thank you!!:flower3:

My husbands friend is all Holy Paleo. Him and his roomy are into the recipe thing. I don't like it. I'm like you.
