Has anyone purchased the stuffed Pal Mickey doll that interacts w/ you throughout the parks? It sells for $60 or can be rented for $8 a day. I hear that it can tell you all sorts of valuable info.
Please advise.
Thank-you

that they thought having the Pal Disney was alot of fun and interesting too. I think that on one of the boards is some info on him......

Me and my daughter both have one and we love him. He will tell you when shows are about to start when characters are out doing autographs and so much more. He even tells lame jokes. He was really worth the money for us. We take him back each time we go. The only complaint that I have is that he is not loud enough in the parks, but he will repeat what he said if you didn't hear it the first time.

Can you purchase him before arriving in the parks? My dd8 bday is 10 days before our April trip and I think he would make a great gift.

DH and I bought him during our last trip back in Sept '04. A steep purchase for such a little guy, but I loved him! Pal Mickey really loves to talk about AK too! Plus, during the months in between our Disney visits, he plays games and tells jokes. I'm turing 26 tomorrow (ugh!) and I really LOVE him  !!!

I give Pal Mickey a big thumbs down.
I personally feel that he talks to soft, he doesn't talk enough, the clip that comes with him doesn't hold real well, and I feel that he's just in the way. I normally never speak negatively about Disney products - but I just didn't feel that he was worth the money that we spent on him. :sad2:

We are going to Disney World in March '05. I bought my kids a Pal Mickey off Ebay for the same cost as in the park.

Can you get Pal Mickey in a DTD store that gives an AP discount to help with the cost? DO any of those places sell him? We're hoping the Easter Bunny can bring him since we'll be at WDW then!

Really like time fly in attraction ques.Plue updates his info which is great. Each trip he gives us updated info,we've now used him on 6 trips. :cool1: :flower:  :cheer2: :wizard:

We liked Pal Mickey BUT...............................................................................
It was another thing to carry around the park with you. It had some corney jokes and some informative things about shows and rides but the volume of Mickey was toooooooooo low for the average person to hear over the din of their rice krispies. Also for $60 it is over priced for a toy for kids. That is my take on Pal mickey.

P.S. I have heard that they have stopped pal mickey rentals in the park so it seems you need to purchase him. ::MickeyMo

Yes, they sell him at World of Disney at DTD.

Well I'll be taking my 4th trip with my Pal Mickey this June. However I will be acquiring the NEW Updated, more interactive Pal Mickey that is being released in May for the 50th anniversary Celebration. I would wait and purchase the new one when you arrive. It will be the same price as the new one, but will have more features. Of course the old ones will still work.

PM has been real helpful with finding characters, especially in Epcot. He will often alert you to a character greeting in WS. Last time he really wanted me to meet Jiminy Cricket in Italy! ;) If you like to hear little factoids throughout your trip, don't mind the corny jokes, like to play simple but entertaining games and don't mind carrying a stuffed animal hooked to you, then I would say go for it.

That's what I plan on doing, too- getting the new one. I listed my old Pal Mickey on ebay today and it sold within 20 minutes for $50 buy it now. Not bad, now I'll use that $$ to put towards the new one.

Also, starting May 5th, if you show your AP when you purchase PM at certain stores, they will give you a free t-shirt for him to wear. :teeth: -Steph

Does he do something special while you are waiting in line? That's the main reason I bought Pal Mickey for my 4 year old.

That's a good idea! I may have to look into doing that! Oh and thanks for the tip about the t-shirt. I remember reading that in the Mickey Monitor but totally forgot about that. I can't wait to see the new little guy. :)
