Thinking about getting a Pal Mickey for the kids ages 6 and 9. Are they worth getting? Can I have that in the room as a surprise for them upon arrival and if so how?

I was wondering the same thing....

We're staying Poly GV 8/26-9/2 and my kids are 9,6,4 & 2. I'm thinking if I rent I'll just end up buying one anyway but was wondering if it is really worth it.

We loved ours. The best thing about it is that if you or any family/friends go back with Pal Mickey - it will update itself so every time you go it will be there to tell you the little secrets about the parks. Our only mistake was not getting it the first day. I believe renting them will run you about $10 a day, so for me renting one wasn't really worth it. We shared one with our travel mates last time - and we were all constantly fighting over who got to carry it- that is why I will be buying my own next time around!

And the kids loved it - mickey tells jokes which the kids were repeating for the entire trip! it was great.

I'm sure the kids will love it, but I wasn't so into it. I had to hold him up to my ear to hear, I couldn't just leave mickey clipped to the belt.

It does make a nice souvenier though.

My wife and I bought one last Nov and loved it. I plan on taking him back this Nov when the whole family is going.

We got the pal mickey for our kids. He is cute. He has a sensor in the tip of his nose( I think) so when walking through the park there are different spots where he gives you info, which is cool but I found it very hard to hear him. We tried to clip him on @ belt level -didn't work well. We tried to make a noose and where him around the neck- not so good. he turned too much so the sensor didn't pick up right. You can rent him and if you like him then buy him. If you call the front desk they will arrange it.

I don't think you will be allowed to arrange for Pal Mickey to be in the room upon your arrival. Until you are checked in that room is up for grabs even if it is blocked out to you. Someone else may get your surprise.

Have them put it in your room when you go out to the parks and it will be waiting when you get back.

You know I think your right. I had asked for a pal mickey to be in our room as a surprise for the kids. It was not. I called down to concierge desk and they brought it up right away. I'm not sure if they forgot or if they couldn't just leave it.
