Hello!
Just decided that I've got to have one for at least our first day at MK, but wondered if anyone out there has any experience...
First, do you have to prebook / reserve?
Where do you actually collect them from inside the park?
Will we waste valuable time (in the race to Space Mountain) ?
What happens to Mickey on Splash Mountain? Can you child swap him? Or does it not matter if he gets a little wet?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Lauraken, :wave2:

I'll try and answer your questions about Pal Mickey ::MickeyMo (but I've never used him yet so this just what others have said!)

1. Definitely don't have to prebook or reserve him. In MK they have him in the Emporium which is pretty much the first shop you see after you've entered the park. (On Main St). I think he is for sale in a lot of shops all over WDW though.
2.You won't waste time if you get there before rope drop, you could buy / rent him and then go queue up waiting for the rope to go down.
3.Don't think you will be able to child swap him but what a great idea!!!! (I've now got a vision of hundreds of Pal Mickeys sitting on a shelf with dangling legs at Splash Mountain waiting for their owners to return!)I would have a plastic bag to put him in (inside another bag eg a rucksack. If you aren't taking a bag then I don't know! Sorry!)
4.If you rent him on the first day and then decide to buy him they will deduct the price of the day's rental from the purchase price.

HTH - can't wait to try him myself!

I bought Pal Mickey in May last year when he was still very new (I bought him at AKL on our first day - he wasn't available at the parks until later during our stay). I got lots of attention from CMs as he was still so new. I was worried that he would be a nuisance, but he wasn't - I certainly don't remember worrying about him getting wet on Splash. I didn't take him back in January, though, and I don't intend to take him in July either, so I guess the novelty wore off pretty quickly. :(

Hi, I love Pal Mickey. I bought him during our last trip in January and used him at all the parks, I never had any probs with him getting wet on rides neither. I know that you can buy him at the resort hotels as well as most shops in the parks so you'll have no probs getting hold of one. I'll be taking mine back when we go in Sept and at xmas - apparently you never have to update him, they update all info around the parks so Pal Mickey is always up to date. Shame I can't get the park info at home lol, but I have been playing games with him and listening to his corny jokes - who says he's just for kids :p

Just wanted to say a belated thanx for all the advice. I'm definately going to give him a go.::MickeyMo

Has anyone else out there got any experience with Pal Mickey?

Only 10 days to go!!!:thewave: :thewave:

I am also considering getting him but can't really justify the $50+ for purchase and rent at $8 day. I think my kids would probably enjoy him at home but not sure. I'm interested in getting in on the last of a Mickey Swap so I can keep him. Are you interested? I'll be in Orlando 6/22-29, otherwise we could ship him.

Let me know how he worked out for you.

Just don't get sucked into the e-bay frenzy and bid more than it's worth. They cost $50 at WDW from what I understand.
