Sorry, not sure where to put this, but can anyone give me any info about the Pal Mickey? Is it worth the money? I don't think I would spend the $65 or so dollars on him, but might get one if I can find one on Ebay a little cheaper. Will they still work if they are used? Any particular ones to get/not get? Can you just rent one somewhere?

Thanks so much!

Search the budget board, there was a thread not too long ago about having the outlets ship you last year's model for around 40 bucks I think.

Hi Kelli,

I checked ebay and w/shipping, they're still pretty expensive. You can order a brand new one from last year's Happiest Celebration on Earth through some Florida overstock companies. The information is on mousesavesr.com if you do a search for Pal Mickey. The price currently is $32.99 plus $9 shipping. I just ordered one today for our trip in Jan. This Pal Mickey will download the new info once you bring him to the parks--he's smart that way. :)

I haven't been myself yet, but a friend who went with her 3 children, 8, 4, & 1 said that everyone, including she & her husband took a turn "playing" with him around the park. I can't imagine with 3 kids that she would want to lug something extra if it wasn't worthwhile. ;)

Thanks for that info!

Is he very heavy? I saw one review where someone complained he was heavy to carry and didn't work in the diaper bag, wouldn't pick up the signals. I was just wondering if that was one of the older ones or something.

We purchased the Pal Mickey last Christmas while in Disney World. He was fun to listen to. I enjoyed him more than my kids. The info and games are cute. Upon getting Mickey home he still plays the games. I was able to sell him on E-bay for the same amount I purchased him for. $65? I would Highly Recommend this!! You get the latest version of Pal Mickey so you know it works and then you can pass him on. If you do this be sure to keep the instruction booklet as there are various hand foot squeezes that operate different functions and games. He was cute and novel but I don't think I will buy one next time we go. (which is hopefully soon!!!!)

Oh, I just found new ones on Amazon for $24!! They come to $31 including shipping! He is just a regular Mickey, though, I hope there isn't much difference between them! Oh, now I am not sure if that's the right one, it says he says 3 phrases... can anyone tell me if that is the right one? Thanks again!

Kellia,

This is not Pal Mickey. It is just a talking plush. IT states that it has 3 phrases when you press it's hand. Pal Mickey has over 700 different phrases. Also Pal Mickey doesn't come in the "Classic Mickey" style that is shown on Amazon. Sorry, $24.00 would have been a bargan. :confused3

Thank you so much! I should have known it was too good to be true!

I got a pal mickey for my birthday (I was 25) last year. It was fantastic, going around the park with him was so good. He would tell you stuff you wouldn't notice. He also told us that the parades were starting.

He did get a little annoying halfway around the haunted mansion; when he has something to say he will shake or shiver, this happened in the really quiet and erry bit of the ride, my sister decided to find out what he wanted (cause we didn't want to miss anything), it was just a parade time. Also he is a little quiet, when you get him home he sounds like he is shouting but in the parks he is very quiet.

My pal mickey is broken due to lots and lots of use, when we got him back home he still played games, told jokes and sang.

I am going back next may and plan to buy the new Sorcerer Mickey, and hear they do clothes now for him - check it out http://www.primateprojections.com/travel/magicaldisney/PalMickey/clothing.html

I would get one, it is worth the money!

We just got back & we loved ours. We have the new version. We didn't really use it the first day in MK because it was so busy & loud. But at Epcot & MGM he was great. DD really loved him & he said alot. She got into it. We will take him back again & again.

A friend mentioned that if he breaks you can bring him to any store that sells them in Disney and they'll exchange. I don't know if there is a time limit on this, but if you still have yours, maybe they'll exchange him for the new one???

They sell some cute outfits in the parks too. They had a yellow rainjacket and rain boots outfit, as well as Safari outfit. There were a few others but those two were my favorites. :) I think they cost about $10 an outfit if I remember correctly.

We bought our PM off of ebay before our last trip and got a fair deal. You just have to keep checking the listings, you may get lucky!

I just bought one last night from the Character Warehouse (an official WDW outlet). I called 305 592-5901. They had the 50th anniversary edition (the Happiest Celebration edition with Mickey in a tux) for 32.99 + 9 s/h. He said it would be sent UPS on Mon and I should have it on Wed. I looked on ebay and there are some Mickey Sorcerer versions for about the same price, however this one is new in the box with all the paperwork. Good luck!!! I can't wait until our trip in Jan to use him!!!!
