Hi,
I've been reading about Pal Mickey and it sounds like a pretty nifty toy for our DS (4). Just a couple of concerns...Is it worth the $$$ and can you buy it at Disney Store or anywhere other than WDW? I saw a few used ones on Ebay, but I'd prefer a new one (if it is worth the $$$).

Thanks for any input!

We have a pal Mickey that we bought at the Animal Kingdom.

My DD was 3.5 when we got him and she held him for a total of 5 minutes while at the parks. Every trip after that, I've been the unofficial pal Mickey holder. So, if you don't mind hanging on to him and listening to him everytime he buzzes, go for it.

I kind of like him. His jokes are a little corny, but he does give you interesting information. I have passed him on to a few friends who were visiting the parks and they too were the keeper of the Pal.

For sixty dollars (that's what we paid), unless you want him, I think your kids could have a full Disney experience without him. JMHO.

Good Luck!

I got ours from eBay and I'm glad I did. While he was fun to have I don't think he is worth $60-$70. I too was the official Pal Mickey carrier. We got one of the hiking/climbing clips and clipped him to the backpack. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed having him but I'm glad I didn't buy him new.

I bought him new in 8/04 in DW. I love him. He gave tips while we were there and tells jokes at home. My son still plays with him a few times a week and is already saying "Don't forget Pal Mickey when we go."
I carried him most of the time in 2004. I will probably clip him on a back pack or the stroller this time around.

In 10/04 my Aunt bought one at the Magic Kingdom for my little cousin who was 18 months at the time. She loved him and although she didn't really understand much of what he said she carried him the whole time. Problem was we were with a group of 14 family members ages 18 mo. - 60 yrs and everyone wanted a turn with Pal Mickey. I finally bought one for my DD's 10 & 12 at the time. When the little one fell asleep it was a battle to see who could get ahold of her Mickey. LOL! We all had a blast with him even in our hotel room and we still play with him at home. We are all going back in Oct. this year and already have Pal Mickey on our "must pack" list. He was more than worth the money for us. :mickeyjum
