Pal Mickey?-Would you buy it again

We love our pals. Bought one in 2003 and everyone (well at least the 2 year old, 5 year old and myself-the momma)wanted to carry him. Found a thread before our last trip that had him for a lot less and we bought one for each of the kids. Everyone loved having their own and we let the kids sleep with them so no extra stuffed animals. We attached him to the lanyards we wore. Worked pretty well.

He gets new downloads everytime you go through the turnstyles and enter a park. You need to have him out with his nose uncovered (his sensor is in his nose) to get him to "know" which park you are in. He then has park specific information. They are also supposed to be selling different "Pals" soon.

Also, if you dont want him talking, put him in a backpack or turn him off. He doesn't talk if his nose is covered.

Thanks for the scoop on that - good to know about the nose. Does "new downloads" actually include new sayings? The more I think about the technical challenges in that, the more I think he is probably "born" with everything he is ever going to say, and that what he is downloading is probably event times, etc.
