Hi,

Was just wondering if this was a worthwhile item, also does carrying it around get a bit tiresome (maybe I could turn it into a backpack...)?

Thanks...

Do you have any kids? If so, I would say yes. We purchased him last year, for ou 9 yr. old, and cant wait to bring him "to his home" again this year. Make sure that you bring him to each park, because he says different things at each park.

Personally I don't know why someone would pay $58 for Pal Mickey. We noticed several people last week carrying Mickey around and he's not that big!

Just my two cents!

We broke down and bought a Pal Mickey for our kids on our trip last October. They really enjoyed listening to what he had to say in each park, but guess who was carrying him around by the end of the week.......ME! :hyper:

If I had to do it all over again though, I'd still get him. We plan on bringing him back on our next trip in December. :wave2:

I bought a brand new Pal Mickey on Ebay for $50.00. Even thought we aren't leaving for our trip until December he has been telling my DD jokes and stories.

We just hooked him on our backpack. What was good, though, as we look back on our pictures from last year, we see him in lot of them. Also, the cm's seem to pay attention to you more if you have him in your arms. I remember some of them commenting on how he's their boss, Tigger trying to take him away from us, telling us to straphim i n the seat good on Body Wars, etc.

we purchased a pal mickey on this past trip and enjoyed him very much at each of the parks. i don't think he's heavy or bothersome at all. it was fun when he would vibrate and begin to tell jokes or what was going on in that particular you spot you happened to be in. even now we all crank him up for a few tidbits of games or jokes just to pretend we're still in disney.

My SIL bought one for my DD on her last trip. We love the jokes (a bit corny) and cant wait to hear him in the parks! From what I have been told, he is a blast!

Well...sounds like a lot of yays to me, my 10 year old loves the idea, so we will do it. Thanks everyone!

I have two boys who were 4 and 2 when we went last year. But I bought PalMickey for ME! I carried him, snuggled him, and I was a good mom and did let the boys listen to him, but he was mine and still lives on the table beside my bed. We listen to his jokes here at home and I can't wait to bring him back!

Mickey, love playing the trivia game with him while in que.::yes:: :wave2:

My DD11 bought one on our trip in May (actually, she paid half and I paid half!). She hooked him to her small bag that she carries in the park. She wears the strap across her body. She really enjoyed his tips and we all enjoyed his silly jokes. She's brining him back in October for our return trip. She felt like he was worth spending her money (and she hardly ever parts with her own money!).

I got one when I was there in June and the whole family loved hearing what he had to say while in different areas of the parks. He gave us a heads up about the fireworks! I'll definitely be bringing him on our next trip in a few weeks!

I'd recommend renting him for a day to see if you like him. You put down a $60 deposit, and get a fresh-out-of-the-bag PM (I've read that they are washed and sanitized - ours was like new). If you like him and want to buy one, they just keep your deposit, and trade out the rental for a brand new, in-the-box PM. If you don't want to buy one, you get back $52 of your deposit.

I had the money set aside for months. I was very excited to buy a PM of my own, but DH suggested we take one for a test run first. As it turned out, I was really disappointed with PM, and decided I'd be a lot happier with the money.

Our 6 year old loves hers. She loves to listen to him in the parks, and about once every couple weeks I pull him out for her to play the games on it. We bought him Memorial Day weekend 2003 (only $50 then) and have gotten a lot of mileage out of him. Of course, we go up to WDW about 8-10 times a year.

We bought Pal Mickey off eBay in Nov 2003. We used him at the parks the week we were there. When we returned home, I re-sold him on eBay. Worked out great!

He was easy to carry. As per the advice read on this board, we put a lanyard/water bottle holder around his neck and attached him to the interior of our rental stroller most of the time - or I would wear him around my neck. That way, he was at the perfect height for my grandson to listen to. The only nuisance was remembering to unhook him from the stroller to bring into attractions. He was fun to have around!

When we go back to WDW this year, we will not rent a Pal Mickey. One trip was enough. Not knocking him, just that I don't feel he is neccessary this trip (now, here's hoping my grandson does not feel differently). ;)

I actually bought one too for myself on our trip from the 16th-21st ofr July and we loved him.I attached him to a water bottle strap which I also used to put pins on and carried him around my neck or over my shoulder. All my kids enjoyed him, especially my 12 year old son surprisingly.Cant wait to take him back next year.

We got a Pal Mickey last May and it was a lot of fun. He tells cute jokes, tells you when parades or shows were about to start, made funny comments especially on Tower of Terror, you can play games and he kept our daughter who was 2 at the time occupied. If you didn't hear him you can squeeze his stomach and he will repeat what he said. He would come on as we passed certain buildings on Main Street and give little bits of info on them. He would aslo tell us that we should go to Pirates because there was no line. He came with a clip and he didn't get in the way at all. He fit in the bag we brought to the park so it didn't bother us to carry him around. I think I've read posts where people suggest putting a lanard strap around him to carry him as well.

My 3 year old still plays with him at home. She likes listening to him tell jokes and she actually takes him to bed every night instead of a doll. It was worth it for us.
