Well, we just got back and here's my personal comments on Pal Mickey. We were looking forward to having one so we bought it at OKW as soon as we checked in. The weather was much hotter than we had expected and every ounce we were carrying really took a toll on us. By Tuesday we were no longer interested in carrying him around even thought he clip did work well. Our main complaint was that we could not hear him, we only knew that he had something to say because he was wiggling...........we returned him on Wednesday and got a full refund.........we'll try again when they turn up the sound or provide an earpiece.

Are they all that way? Is it possible that you got a defective one? Has anyone else tried Pal Mickey? What where your experiences?
My daughter is going down in a couple of months, she is thinking of buying one or two for her daughters.

Like I said in another post. Some people we met down there had one. She said they could not hear him in MK too much noise........
In the other parks it was ok.

Maybe Pal Mickey should be shaped like a walkman that you can attach to your belt and come with a set of earphones.

Or be something like those audio guides you get at museums????

I'd be interested in hearing what he has to say, but I wouldn't want to carry him around all the time especially if I couldn't hear him.:(

We tried it for one day when we were at Epcot. I agree it is hard to hear. Also, it was suppose to give you times of events, character apperance and other stuff. It did give us some (just some) valuable information, but not as much as we had expected. The sales rep who we return it to said it is still in its early stages and thinks more improvements we be needed. Needless to say, I did not purchase one. Maybe next time if they update it.

I have also heard several people claim he was hard to hear inside the parks. I guess he would be if you left him on the belt clip. I think they intended for you to hold him to your ear to listen to him. That's the way I used it and I could hear it even during the parade. I thought it was very cool and my 2 daughters loved it.
