Pal Mickey Question?

I bought Pal Mickey on my last trip to WDW in April. I'll be bringing him back with me over Thanksgiving. Is there anything I need to do to update him... or will just passing through the turnstile the first time do the trick? Just wondering... Thanks!

He should just update after you go through the gates. If he doesn't take him to one of the stores and they can help you.

Forward as you enter the park and he should update his data no problem.

We just bought one and haven't had a chance to take him to the park. How will you know that he's updated? I'm assuming he'll start saying appropriate things at the right spots???
