This PAL MICKEY ~ INTERACTIVE PLUSH TOUR GUIDE looks really cute...has anyone purchased one? What did you think? I figure that I better check it out before I spend $65 on one.

Oh, and possibly, does anyone have one (of the new ones with a tux jacket) that they are wanting to sell? Let me know.

Your help is much appreciated!

Kim

I know this has been discussed a lot on these boards, I would try a search.
In my opinion, he was worth every penny. My DS6 relly got a kick out of him, so did I. He tells you a lot of interesting facts about each park, lets you know when key rides have a low wait time, he even reminds you when to find a good spot for the parades!

Now that we are home, he plays 6 different cool games that reminds us of being at WDW. My DD1 has now latched on to him! We will be bringing him back in 2007!

It's a great buy, my six year old son loved it and contray to some negative feedback from others, he carried it throughout our fortnight trip (on a landyard around his neck) and it rarely left his side. He also loved the opportunites to tell us about things going on in the different parks, and had a blast with in Epcot going through world showcase where mickey is a buzz with information. :wizard:

We are going to WDW in June of this year and we are getting our daughter one. She will be 9 when we go. I figure it will be a good thing to have in the parks and also a nice thing at home to remind us of our wonderful vacation.

Thanks for the positive reports. :cool1:

What kind of games does he play? My 13 yo and my 9 yo both think he looks cool but they arent sure they want one yet. They fear they might be to old.

This sounds really neat. Is there a link someone can post so I can see or buy one now? Or do you have to buy it at the WDW?
TIA

We just purchased Pal Mickey. We have 3 kids and I got it for the younger two who didn't meet the height requirements for the big rides to keep them happy. They really like cuddling with him and hearing him talk. But the 6yr old loved him! :cloud9: She couldn't wait for him to wiggle! Loved the jokes and quizes. He was a fun part of our trip!

Would a two-year old appreciate Pal Mickey? My daughter will be two when we go in June, and just loves  her "Mick-Mee". Thought it might keep her entertained, but I'm sure lots of his jokes will be over here head. I always wanted one myself actually, now I have an excuse to get one!

I only paid $13 for mine and totally thought it was a waste. My son was almost 3 at the time. I found it extremely hard to hear in most of the parks (and I am always the one saying turn down the tv) and that it wasn't very useful, A pain in the behind to carry around too! With son, stroller and camera I didn't need something else. Some of the facts were okay, but if I listened to Pal Mickey then had no idea what the rest of my family was doing. When my hubby had it on he couldn't push the hand fast enough before Mickey was past his point of being able to tell us whatever it was.

Just my opinion and wanted to give the downside!

PAL MICKEY is an interactive plush Mickey Mouse that allows you to make your way around the WDW resort with your own personal guide, introduced in May 2003. With the advent of the Happiest Celebration on Earth on May 5, 2005, Walt Disney World introduced a new, enhanced version of Pal Mickey. The new Pal Mickey is priced slightly higher than the previous version ($65 plus tax) and is all dressed up in a removable tuxedo jacket. He not only comes with new games and songs, but he also has a brand-new carrying lanyard and a louder speaking voice.

We had one are last trip.We could not hear it at all. :confused3 So we exchanged it after one day.Next day still could not hear the new one so we returned it for a full refund.I could here it in the store but as soon as we get in the park could not.We really liked the concept of the Pal Mickey but it doesn't work well with any background noise :listen: :confused3 (rides,shows,parades,music,crowds,etc.).

We had a pal mickey and had to hold it up to our ears and strain to hear it :listen: It never gave us any useful information just really cheesy jokes. We thought it was a waste of our 65 dollars.

The games he plays are "mickey says"(like Simon says), and "fast friends"( you press different parts of Mickey when he says certain character names, "that isn't here"(you press different parts to tell whether an attraction is in a park)

He also tells jokes(very corny ones). He's a cute little guy, and I would so get one.
