Has anyone had a Pal Mickey waiting in their room upon arrival as part of a gift basket or something? I'd like to order one to be in our room as a gift to my husband. Gift basket perhaps?

Can anyone help with info on how I would make this arrangement?

I had one brought to our room the day we arrived. The kids loved it. Pal Mickey has a sensor in the tip of the nose so while your walking through the park be sure to keep his nose pointed forward so that he talk to you. :)

Are they less expensive than the $75 I saw posted at the above site if you buy them on property yourself?

Do you know if there are discounts on the purchase price if you are DVC or AP?

With tax in the parks your Pal Mickey will be 60.00. He does have to be "woke" by a Disney CM at a certain store in each park. (his nose has to be inserted into this little machine) -

I don't know about the discounts but I believe last year we paid $65 or $60 for it. I could be mistaken but I think that number rings a bell (all the way home). I can't wait to take him back in a few more days. The best part was the ToT with him!!

On the funny side; my DH urged me to remove the batteries from him once we got home and were done showing everyone. He said he had dreams about Pal Mickey standing on his chest one morning saying "He he he Pal, it's time to go back to Disney!" I told him that would be me not Mickey!!! LOL

On WDW website it lists all the places that he interacts:

I didn't know about the wake up thing. I just thought you had to hold him up and face him forward walking into a park. hmm very interesting!

I also thought it would be cool if they set up things on the DCL for him. Just a thought!

It was my friend's son birthday and they were staying at Poly Con. I called the Poly itself, told them that I wanted to buy a Pal Mickey and have it waiting him when he arrived. They also had a cake:) They just billed the Pal Mickey to my credit card. They did an excellent job!

So this has to be done every time you enter a park? It isn't just activated once and work throughout the World?

I bought mine for my DD last year on Ebay for $45 (with shipping). I had read that the price was going to $60, so I was happy!

I didn't have to activate anything (the nose). It just works. DD loved it. I suppose when we go back in April '05, we'll need to change the batteries, but it still seems to be ok over a year later.

It's quite cute. I hope they download more things into it.

Hope that helps!

Thank you all SO much! My husband is going to really get a kick out of this!

Last December, he was available for purchase at the World of Disney in DTD. We were able to get our AP shopping discount there :)

We originally bought the Pal Mickey back around Aladdin's ride one day. He did talk some but not as much as I thought he should.

A couple days later he quit talking totally so the store replaced his batteries.

A few days later he totally stopped talking again, so we went back to the shop where we got him originally, the CM's including the manager couldn't get him to talk at at - by this time my dd was heart broken that her pal was broke for good.

We were given a new one and told to take it to the shop on Main Street to have his nose "turned on" so off we went, the CM there put his nose in this little box under the counter and he started talking and would still be talking if he wasn't turned off now.

I was told that on a return visit he will download new information his first visit back to a park
