Painter Thomas Kinkade Died

He is my favorite painter. The way he uses light in his paintings is remarkable. I have two of his Disney paintings and I would love to have many more.

Very sad.

I guess he has been scoffed at for his mass production.

I like his work. We have one of his Carmel streets, a cottage and his 50th Anniversary of Disneyland. He appealled to the masses. I know what I like. He was very good at what he did.

He was too young (54).

The world is a much darker place now that the "Painter of Light" is no longer in it

I feel a bit bummed about this. I wouldn't say I'm a fan but I respect his technical work as an artist. A true talent.

54 is too young.
Maybe his work isn't "fine art" in the usual sense, but it brings me a sense of warmth and comfort that most "fine art" never could.

I loved him as well. I have so many of his prints and books. I bought his calendar every year - including the Disney one for this year.
