I'm trying to decide if the Paint the Night dining package from Aladdin will be worth it for our family. It's only my husband, my 17-year old, and myself. We are going in mid-July and are planning for the second parade. Do you think we can find somewhere to watch it well enough without the dining and without devoting a lot longer to waiting? We've never been to Disneyland before, so I can't really picture any of the viewing areas. Or should I bite the bullet and go for the dining? I can't justify the expense of Blue Bayou.

We've watched the second parade many times and never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for a great viewing spot. Since your group is basically all adults, you should be fine getting a spot in the second or third row and seeing over the people in front of you. Try cruising the parade route about 30 minutes before the show starts, and you shouldn't have a problem finding good spots. The long wait times are usually for people who want spots sitting on the curb.
