Hours came out today for Monday, May 21. It shows California Adventure being open 9 am to 9 pm, but lists Paint the Night at both 8:45 and 10:45. IThe parade is at CA, right? Same with Sunday, May 20, except closing time is 10 pm on the 22nd. Other nights the park closes at 9 and it only shows the parade at 8:45 pm, but those two dates during our trip are showing parades past closing time.... will there really be a second parade or is just an error/lag in getting schedules updated?

Edited: had dates wrong...

I think it's hard to say how this works because Paint the Night has never run at DCA (or even any night parade that I can remember), so no one can really speak from experience. I do know that they sometimes list WoC for after closing time, and that just means that ride queues shut down at closing time but people are still allowed to stay and watch WoC. So it is possible that they will run the parade after closing time. However, as far as I can remember that's usually only a 15 minute discrepancy. This has the parade running an hour and forty-five minutes after closing, and that doesn't seem likely to me. My guess is that the calendar is still in flux and either closing time or parade time will change.

Check grad night schedule. They could have a show for grads only.

I also think the schedule is still in flux and either the closing time or the parade times (or possible both) will still change. They've got a kind of wonky schedule listed for Sunday as well (park closes at 10:00 pm, but PTN is listed for 10:45 pm). Memorial Day isn't until the next week, so it's a little surprising that things are still in flux, but perhaps they're trying to determine if they should increase hours due to the end of the SoCal Resident ticket offer (tickets expire on 5/24 and last year there were very big crowds that final weekend).

22nd is a grad nite, but 21st is not. Weird.

I know that one... We saw Main Street Electrical Parade in CA in 2009. World of Color was still being built and I was there for the opening night of MSEP and then hopped over to Disneyland and saw the second showing of Fantasmic (also on its opening night after a refurb I think... it was the only night either of them ran during our trip so we had to fit in both).

Thanks for the input. It just seemed strange to me and I was wondering if anyone else had noticed it. The 20th is our first day in the parks so I'm just trying to get a feel for what park hours and entertainment will be when we're there, but I've got tentative plans I can change when we see crowd sizes.
