Paint fiberglas tub

My DH and I are finally going to redo one of our bathrooms. We have a fiberglas tub which we really don't want to replace because of the expense of hiring a plumber, etc. The but is beige and the new toilet we bought is white. Has anybody ever painted a fiberglas tub and is that a good option for us? I searched online and it seems fairly cheap to do this. I figured fiberglas boats are painted so it should work for my tub right?

My mom did this, and it didn't last long. The paint started chipping just a couple of months later. Look into having a professional re-glaze it.

I don't know if you can regulate fiberglass. Ours is an d cast iron tub that my parents had reglazed many years ago. It still looks great

Same thing happened to us. We got a bit longer out of it, I want to say a year to 18 months, and then it started chipping and peeling.

I redid a claw foot porcelian tub awhile back and had good luck with it, but I'm not sure I would tackle a fiberlgass tub. Seems like it would be prone to chipping.

We had ours redone by a professional about 10 years ago, and it still looks good. I forget the cost, but I believe it was several hundred $$$.

I just checked online because I never heard of them and there is one not too far from me. I'm going to check out their website.
