Pain in the neck!

"OY! 10,000 years will give you SUCH a crick in the neck!"

That's been going through my head all morning because I woke up with the worst crick in the neck I've had in YEARS. I do have neck problems ever since a car accident years ago, but I've been pretty much pain free for the past 3-4 years.

I took 800 mg of Motrin, but what else??? I can't move my head at all, so I can't drive anywhere right now. BLEH.

Did you try ice? I screw my neck up about twice a year, and have to just work the ice, and motrin. Hope it eases up!

My doctor won't work on my neck on the first day of pain, but if it's still hurting by Monday, I'm definitely calling him!

I forgot about the ice! I know that too, but I'm in so much pain that I'm not thinking about what's right.

I have had to actually go get muscle relaxers before because of it. The one and only time I have ever taken muscle relaxers was due to this, and they acted like I was drug seeking. I was almost ashamed to take the prescription by the time they were through! I was in so much pain, I took them though. Luckily I haven't had to go back.

I'm confused ... why is that? I usually go to a chiropractor for my neck/back pain and she doesn't have any rules like that. Of course, it can be hard to get an appointment right away. You may want to book an appointment today for Monday if you can.

DH takes Tylenol Allergy nearly daily because he won't go to the doctor about his sinus issues. I keep telling him that one day our house is going to get raided because they are going to think that we have a meth lab in here!

Our Rite Aid had a bunch of cough and cold stuff on 1/2 price clearance. I'm expecting the police any day now.

If I'm so stiff that I can't move it, he feels that a manipulation would be too painful, so he would rather I not come in until the stiffness has abated a bit. It's always worked well between us, because sometimes the sore neck goes away after a day or two, but if it doesn't, he can fix me right up. My doctor isn't a chiropractor, though. He's an osteopath. What's weird is, he doesn't believe in chiropractic medicine, although he does perform spinal manipulations. I don't know what the difference is, but he says there is.

When I saw a chiropractor, I'd have to go in every other day for several weeks. When I just use my doctor, he'll do one manipulation and that'll be it. If the pain continues, he'll do another a week later.
