That stinks that you and your DH have to go so far to a cancer center to have MOHS done. It was just done "in-house" in my local dermatology office, but they do have a dedicated section just for MOHS surgery, and I'm assuming that's not the case with other dermatology centers. I had both external and dissolving sutures - the external were on top and the nurse stated they use those because they tend to see less scarring, so since it is on the nose, they try everything to make sure scarring is minimal. I have internal, dissolving sutures as well. I'm glad this thread was helpful/interesting to someone else besides me! LOL Good luck to you and your husband!Glad to hear things have gotten better. I was interested reading this thread to discover that MOHS surgery is prevalent in other areas of the country. Unfortunately, around here we had to go to a major cancer center 350 miles away for MOHS. This is the first time I've been lucky enough to talk to someone else who had MOHS surgery besides DH. It's interesting that you went back for suture removal. DH had dissolving stitches, but maybe that was because we lived so far away-a long drive just to have stitches taken out.
