Pain after MOHS Surgery...

Glad to hear things have gotten better. I was interested reading this thread to discover that MOHS surgery is prevalent in other areas of the country. Unfortunately, around here we had to go to a major cancer center 350 miles away for MOHS. This is the first time I've been lucky enough to talk to someone else who had MOHS surgery besides DH. It's interesting that you went back for suture removal. DH had dissolving stitches, but maybe that was because we lived so far away-a long drive just to have stitches taken out.
That stinks that you and your DH have to go so far to a cancer center to have MOHS done. It was just done "in-house" in my local dermatology office, but they do have a dedicated section just for MOHS surgery, and I'm assuming that's not the case with other dermatology centers. I had both external and dissolving sutures - the external were on top and the nurse stated they use those because they tend to see less scarring, so since it is on the nose, they try everything to make sure scarring is minimal. I have internal, dissolving sutures as well. I'm glad this thread was helpful/interesting to someone else besides me! LOL Good luck to you and your husband!

I enjoyed reading also and am sorry for those who have to travel as well. I am having MOHS surgery next week on a small spot on my forehead at my hairline. It's being done right at my dermatologist's office which is so close that I could walk there if I wanted.

I had Mohs surgery on my cheek 12/29/21 and everything went fine initially. I had little pain but increased the next four days. It feels like I had a root canal. My teeth even hurt when I ate. Ice seemed to help but gradually had to take a Hydrocodone pain pill that helped finally. Going to call the doc tomorrow to see if anything else is happening...will update!
