Paid off my car today!!!

Thanks everyone. it does feel really good to have it paid off. I was working on the budget for next month and was so perplexed to see such a large amount left over, lol. I am putting half of what I paid into a savings so a few years from now when I do need a new car I can just pay cash.

Congratulations! :thumbsup2 Three more payments to go and I hope to be payment free for 2-3 years!! So excited. Will be a first for us also.

We just paid ours off last month...now it needs a new compressor for the A/C and new brakes....etc. Oh well, at least it's paid off :)

We just paid ours off last month. Then needed 2 tires for $550, and yesterday dropped $650 on repair for other paid off vehicle. Like above poster said, at least they're paid off!:thumbsup2 Next month I can start putting more away for WDW 2012. :cool1: Yippie :cool1: No car payments!
Of course my DH would run right out and buy another new one if I'd let him! (I accually havent told him the car is paid off, but I think he may know???:cool2:)

We have about 10 months left till DH's car is paid off...it'll be 5 (long) years coming. :D

Congrats!

Congrats on both accts. Now you should take 1/2 of the month car payment amount that you use to pay and put it into an acct and not touch it untill you need another car!
I did this and when it came time to buy my car I ask the dealership to reduce the price by $1,000 if I paid cash and they did. So not only did I not have to pay interest on a loan I had $1,000 extra in my pocket.

Where is the new job? I am waiting on a job offer to be given to me today. The Manager told me yesterday that HR would call me Fri or Mon. :cool1:

Good job!

We have the van paid off, early, but it will need to be replaced at some point (hopefully not for a few years). What I really want to get done is pay off DH's pickup and tractor, because once those are paid for, they won't be replaced for a LONG time (the tractor probably never). Those two items will free up $500 each month. Then maybe we will replace the van and just have one payment.

I figured out if we added $500 to the debt payments each month and snowballed, I could have the pickup, tractor, AND the mortgage paid off in 4 years. I have not added $500 every month though. Hopefully I will be able to most of the time.
