Paid off my car today!!!

This morning after 6 long years I dropped off my last car payment at the bank. It felt so good to hand it over. The teller even gave me a sucker to help me celebrate, .

Plus I got a call for a job interview on Friday morning .

AWESOME!!!!! We are hammering away with paying off DH truck in 19 months; 3 yrs early. Thento start doubling up on mine, which I am just about to make the first payment, so in 4 years hopefully we will be car payment free. I am sooooo envious. Wish I was in your shoes. What a great feeling.

Congrats! I have been paying for a car since 2004 (got into an accident and my car was totaled so I had get a new one), my last payment is SUPPOSED to be in June, but I wanna get it done by April! Then I will be car payment free for hopefully 3-4 years! Congrats again. I am quite envious.

congratulations!!!! Isn't it wonderful to be car payment free? DH and I both have paid off cars for the last two years and it is wonderful. Now I am praying teaching my 16 year old to drive will not total one of them and put us back to paying payments. lol

Good job! You'll be impressed at how much faster the car goes, and how much better gas mileage it gets by not pulling that payment book around.

Now just stay off car lots, don't get on autotrader, and don't read the newspaper classifieds.

Congratulations!! It feels good, doesn't it? We paid one vehicle over a year ago, and the 2nd was paid off in March. It's the first time in 18 years of marriage, that we haven't had at least one car payment.

We plan to make this last as long as possible.

Paid mine off two months ago...great feeling...it is not the car of my dreams was actually my husband's who passed a couple of years ago BUT is not quite to 100,000 miles and should last another 4-5 years easily....YEAH to NO CAR Payments..congrats to the OP and pixie dust for your job interview.

My van was paid off in Dec '10 and for awhile it didn't feel like I had any extra money, but now I can see the extra money.
