This started in shanghai but I don't think it's going to take long to trickle elsewhere.

Called Disney Premier Access, the new upgrade option allows for guests to skip the lines on seven of the busiest rides in the park, including the TRON Lightcycle coaster, Soaring Over the Horizon, and Peter Pan’s Flight.

Shanghai Disneyland guests can either purchase a single FastPass or a seven-attraction pack. The single FastPasses range in price from 120 RMB (roughly $17.50) on non-peak days to 150 RMB (approximately $21.75) on peak days. The seven-attraction pass is much more reasonable at MB 480 or 600 (US$69.71-87.14).

Unlike traditional FastPasses or even the FastPass+ we have here in Orlando – where the FastPass return time is set within a specific timeframe – the skip-the-line Premier Access can be used any time during the day of purchase.

I don't usually take what happens in the eastern parks as any sign of what will happen here. The markets are just so different compared to the US parks.

That being said...they will repackage it/change the angle and do it before you know it.

The current "philosophy" (if you can call it that) is to charge more - sometimes multiple times - for the same things...it's not gonna stop until vertebrates return to the parks...

The old philosophy was repeat business, better experience than the competitor, and quality above all
Else.

Not surprised when this happens here. Universal sort of already does it. However, I think WDW will give some compensation to hotel guests, maybe only deluxe, like Universal does. I also think there will eventually be a pay option though. Leave no wallet unturned out:)

I'm mean they kind of already do this here it just isn't use when ever you want. Seems similar to the day of thrills or the family tour options offered. They chose select rides and it is cheaper then a refular vip tour but still enough to deter too many people from doing it.

My understanding is that fast pass was never to be free. So, I'm not surprised by this at all.

I don't believe that to be correct...different time and place.

I do believe fastpass+ was designed for that though

Just enter "fast pass scalpers Shanghai" into your favorite search engine and you'll find the evidence. (I'm not provide direct links because most are sites that would be considered Disboards competitors.)
As long as the link is from an approved site there is no problem posting it here.

Can rich people buy more than one ticket a day at wdw to have access to more fast passes or is there something that will stop it?

Yes you can do that. Plenty of bit FP+ fans do that already. You don't even need to use the ticket to use the FP entitlements, so one set of tickets can be used trip after trip. I believe those are called "FP Generators".

Thanks doesn't seem fair so I will never do it

Don't get me wrong. I'd do it and not think twice about it. I just think a lot of people who claim to love FP+ love it because of all the insider tricks they are able to use.

This actually used to be discussed in the same day FP+ thread here quite a bit last year or two but then Disney changed the terms of service for MDE last fall to state you must use the ticket you make advance fast passes with to enter the park when you redeem them (though their system does not prevent the redemption FP when the ticket was not used to enter the park). Since disboards does not allow discussions about how to violate Disney policies it can no longer be discussed so it was removed from the thread.

So essentially you'd be paying $280-360 for a family of 4, for 4 extra FP+. If it's just one time use, for the one park per day. No way do I see this taking off here. But, if you could do the rides multiple times and use it on multiple days/in multiple parks, then yes. I could see people doing it.
